He may never be healthy. His foot injury is serious.

I hope Dodd works out. I think Johnson could be a special 50 tackle run-stuffing NT in the league. He had excellent production in college for an interior lineman, and he's always working towards the ball carrier instead of holding his blocks. He's a bit small for that at the time, but he really doesn't carry the bad weight of a NT and could get up to 330 without carrying much more, if that's the role they want for him.

He wasn't a healthy scratch. He played in those games and was just stuck behind 2 1000yd receivers!!!

Dodd isn't really stuck behind anyone because if he could rush the passer either behind Morgan or inside in nickel/dime and play special teams, he could have been a useful player. But he's got a lot of work to do! And with Klug coming off a serious injury, the door is open for Dodd.

We aren't gonna give up on these guys just yet, but I think people were disappointed with who we took and then what we got out of them. And they are mostly right with their critique of Dodd and Johnson. A 2nd round NT should be playing at least 30% of our defensive snaps and on special teams while he develops. He didn't and that's a problem. Dodd also not being available 7 games is a problem! And the fact that we felt the need to sign Sly Williams doesn't inspire confidence!

Get some game film of these guys doing something positive in the NFL as examples of what they CAN do...if you can! Instead of showing college traits, show them doing it in the NFL.

You're nitpicking is a little out there. Maybe they weren't gonna throw a hail mary and it was a good rush, but they needed 25-35 yds minimum to be in a position to throw a hail mary so him planning to hold the ball is a valid point (not 3 step quick throw). But it was a solid rush. question is, why didnt the qb step up? Qb's sometimes take that deep drop and stay deep...leaving their OT's out to dry!

We'll see what he gives us this year.

Unless he tacks on 15-25lbs I don't see them letting him play DE in a base 3-4. Right now, you'd have to look at him as an outside risher in nickel/dime or kicking inside in same sub pass rushing packages. At the moment you'd HOPE he could fill Klug's role until he's back while he competes for more playing time at OLB behind Morgan.

The problem is, he's not a great fit for this defense.

Um...no on the the Orakpo comparison. orkapo was smaller (6'4, 263) and was always looked at to be a 3-4 OLB, not a DE unless you mean 4-3 DE.

Orakpo also came in and had 11 sacks his rookie season.

    Per rotoworld

Titans OLB Kevin Dodd (foot) still isn't 100 percent healthy.

Speaking Tuesday, GM Jon Robinson deemed Dodd's injury "delicate." The 2016 second-rounder is still dealing with pain. It's bad news after Dodd's rookie year was wrecked by foot issues. Dodd had a "preventative" — i.e. necessary — operation last May before struggling through foot problems basically all seasons. He played 179 ineffective snaps before landing on injured reserve. Dodd should be considered questionable for training camp.

    I'll just leave this here

We are threatening to have a good football team this year and we are bitching about rookies?

Like I said...Don't be surprised if we take a pass rusher early
