We'll see if drafting need > drafting BPA. At least we'll get that figured out. Hope we hit it.

Where do you feel we need improvement on D?

The Titans signed free agents at CB and SS. Byard played well at FS and should only get better. The Titans drafted a guy in the first to play opposite Ryan.

Jackson is a hybrid CB. Drafted for his special team. Get real TJ.

Our MLB's average at best. We will get run upon and TE'd to death as we have been. We need (as we have for the past 2 years) another shut down CB. By honest assessments, Jackson simply isn't one.

We need another pass rusher. We didn't get one. And this was the deepest D draft in a while.

Look- I'm trying to lay low in a single forum with my concerns. I get that I am often hyper-critical. But this draft doesn't feel good at all to me. Much like the other times that haven't felt good and I've been right.

LB and CB. Adoree is a GREAT athlete and shows flashes as a CB, but because he's been a mister everything, he's got a lot of work to do. He may very well end up in the slot. Either way, we are gonna be relying on Reed/Sims for one of our 3 cb slots most likely (since we have no 4th round pick now). Cyprien is untested in coverage in this defense...to put it politely.

So Logan is an upgrade. Adoree will be in time but I expect his biggest impact on special teams though he should be a good zone cb for now. And he has HUGE upside, but we also have lost Klug's role in the pass rush for now and our LB corp has not improved. And we lost our nickel ILB in Spence. Can one of the special teamers from FA fill that role? Maybe.

So while we have improved with Ryan and Cyprien and special teams guys as depth at LB, the Jags got Fournette!!! Texans added a mobile QB (though I don't feel he fits their system) and a bigtime ILB to thwart our run game (not to mention 'adding' JJ Watt).

A do it all ILB or a dominant S or a dominant now cb would have been nice. Basically the opposite of Davis but on D.

Clearly one of our focuses is to beat people in the special teams phase! Adoree and those couple of free agents could make a huge impact!

I'm just not a big fan of trying to outscore people as our way to improving.

Jackson was the Thorpe Award winner last year.

Is Ryan? He was the guy signed to the be the #1 CB.

I agree we have no ILBs who can cover a decent TE. Foster may have been that three down LB but JRob felt Jackson was a bigger need/talent.

OLB? Want to replace Orakpo or Morgan? The Titans have a lot invested in both. At DE, Casey is solid and the Titans seem to like DaQuan Jones. I'd loved Allen but he was gone when the Titans picked at #18.

You've earned the right to be cynical. I went to bed last night thinking how cray this place would have been if last night ended with Adams/Howard. I'd been over-the-top giddy about it myself.

But the Titans just paid a SS and felt Jackson was the better option over Howard. Time will tell but I don't get being so critical of JRob until this plays out. He's done nothing but make good moves with most of his decisions so far.

I think an honest person can admit when trending toward the norm. Been a whole lot of unearned hope driven fanboy love for JRob. He's an average GM albeit one with a singular vision.

Nothing but respect TJ. But I disagree with your last statement. He's been slightly above average. His FA moves have been about neutral, and last year's draft was just ok for a #1 pick overall.

I get you. On the upside, if Corey Davis turns into a modern Terrell Owens, we'll be VERY happy. If Adoree can turn into a top lockdown cb who's also one of the most dangerous PR/KR's in the NFL, you'll be happy.

Taywan Taylor is very talented and extremely hard to cover due to his change of direction and quickness but the one, somewhat bizarre thing, is that he's a bit of a Kendall Wright clone. Shorter side with great lateral quicks but doesn't run precise routes and tends to free lance. I don't think we needed to trade up for him and think he would have gone in round 4. But he'll be a dangerous slot wr for us and basically 7-11...always open!!!

Jonnu Smith is an 'interesting' pick as well. Clearly, they wanted a guy who can block in the run game and Smith showed a LOT more athleticism than they thought at the combine/Senior Bowl. He's been compared to an early Delanie Walker (who most didn't think would turn out as great as he has) and that's not bad. But again, I think he's around in round 4 with other higher quality players (IMO) still available. But there are things to like, even if you think he came off a round or so too early!

The one thing I like about JRob is that he does identify the players he wants and grabs them...no matter what we (or the 'experts' think). I thought this was gonna be an interesting one to see how JRob wants to build the team - especially in a loaded defensive draft. Clearly we want to make our offense unstoppable (think Falcons in 2016) and figures we've upgraded our secondary enough.

We shall see, but we should score points and control the ball. We can't argue that they didn't get Mariota weapons!!!

From what I've heard, he's not worked on his coverage skills in the offseason because he's running. Here's where coaching comes in to get him focused on learning his position. If they decide to run a handful of offensive plays with him (Pacman), it better not be at the risk of his CB skills.

Klug was resigned. Do you think he'll not return to form from his injury?

I'm not a fan. I think he runs too upright and is injury prone.

We'll have to wait and see. I'm not sold on Watson but we'll have to wait and see.

I see the secondary as much improved on paper. We'll not know how it plays out for some time. I expect some growing pains as these guys haven't played together but I think the Titans have tried to get better talent back there.

Besides their ability to cover a TE, I like our LBs if Orakpo and Morgan hold up. I'm good with the DL as well. The secondary was the glaring weakness last season, IMO.

He's been here one year. Conklin was an amazing pick. The trade was also great—especially if Davis is the real deal. I was critical of getting Murray at first but now I'm a believer. Sharpe looks like he can become a #2. Johnson and Henry look to be solid contributors in time.

Besides the concern over Dodd, where has JRob been less than stellar?
