I have read a few times about his "variance" as the poster above linked.
It seems he will speed up, slow down and change speeds regularly which will help him break from containment but will also cause timing issues.

No doubt photos can be deceiving. I have seen 6'1 pgs look as tall as 6'7 wing players when taken from certain angles. At the same time, every single picture I have seen of Adoree next to Davis (and there have been many at this point) he is much, much shorter than Davis. I have a hard time believing he is really 5'10. They must have included his hair in a bun on top of his head when they took the measurements.

So now we fill that ILB hole with Perry Riley, Gerald Hodges, or someone who gets cut this summer and I'm pretty happy.

Wouldn't be upset to see CB Tramain Brock brought in either. I trust their confidence in Sims, but I'm scared to think what would happen if one of our top 3 CBs gets hurt.

I'd be down with either of those ILBs.

Trust Sims? The same guy who played in just 6 games last year? I see a lot of people putting a whole lot of faith in that kid already...

    Thoughts:

    - I would have liked Adams at 5, but I understand it wasn't a position of need for us. Byard's developing into a stud, the org is high on Cypas the box and run stuffing safety, Searcy just reworked his contract, and Trawick will be more than just a STer since JRob said they were impressed with him overall.

    - I don't feel Jayon Brown is what we needed at LB, but it was going to be hard to find a gamer by that pick. This is our glaring weakness, IMO. Woodyard and Williamson don't get the job done, Palmer and Bates are STers. We will need to wait to fill this hole.

    - Love the WR corps now, not sure if Weems or Douglas make it out of camp. Davis/Matthews/Sharpe/Taylor/McBride is pretty good.

    - I wouldn't have minded a second CB, but the org has faith in Sims and the steps he has taken. It was also unlikely a second rookie would get much time under Dick. Ryan, Adoree, Sims, McCain will be the go-to CBs this year.

    - Focus long-term has to be on the defensive side. Rak and Morgan won't be around much longer, Dodd looks like a bust, and we don't know what we have in Wallace yet. Carraway is likely camp fodder. An elite edge monster would go a long way, but we have another year or so before that becomes a priority. ILB is a hole that I hope to see addressed this year. There's still a couple of good FAs out there, or perhaps we can work out a trade for somebody. Would also like an upgrade on the DL, somebody who is more of a sack threat over Jones/Williams. That's more of a luxury, though. ILB now and edge shortly become the focus.

I almost completely agree with this. ILB is the only starting hole left unaddressed. I do feel that another edge rusher is also necessary. While Morgan and Orakpo are great, they are 29 and 31 and we have hardly anything behind them.
I'm sure we pick up some depth FA signings at some point this offseason, but yes, we've got to find a Woodyard replacement soon.
A luxury addition would have been an upgrade for Jones across from Casey on the DL.
We also certainly checked off kick returner.

Next year's draft should be almost exclusively defense. An overhaul of the linebackers would be nice. Dodd needs to play and produce this year or we could be in big trouble. I'm not anticipating orakpo to play a full season again. If Dodd doesn't pick it up, we need 2 edge players next year.

Yup! Key word is CAN and almost importantly...when! It'll be interesting to see if we put him on an island as we did a lot last year or change up to a mixture of coverage because he's better at zone right now (good instincts and ball skills and break).

Depends on your definition of 'required.' I would argue we have several places we don't KNOW if we need an upgrade or not and most of them are on the defensive side of the ball. For instance...

Does Sly Williams finally put it altogether and lock in the starting NT job. If not him does Austin Johnson? 2 question marks at a very important position!

Do Rak and Morgan stay healthy?

Covering TE's or rb's out of base is gonna be an issue with Woodyard and Williamson starting. In the nickel we can cover with Brown, but he's also a rookie. Can he handle it?

We don't know how much Sims can do this year. Can he start outside? Can he start at nickel? Same with Adoree...2 of our top 3 cb spots are question marks.

Byard and Cyprien are question marks. Byard didn't have a starting role the whole year and we don't know if Cyprien can stay on the field in obvious passing down.

Can Corey Davis be a special player and a true #1 wr or is he just a nice sized target? Can Taylor lock down and make an impact as the slot? Can Smith win the TE2 spot and get a good amount of playing time?

Lots of IFs and we'll find the answers soon!

    That's a lot of IF's.

Baring injuries of course I could see us flirting with 10+ wins now

I wouldnt have said that before the draft

but of course we need Mularkey to not pull a Mularkey again and choke on the Jags and any other inferior teams...
