Andy offense in 2010 had a 1000 yard receiver in Jackson and maclin was 40 yard shy of 1000.

I think people are too high on Mariota. Cody Kessler had a higher QB rating as a rookie, yet you don't see people proclaiming him to be the new messiah. And Mariota, praised by all walks of life, only had a QB rating 2 points above Ryan Tannehill, while the fans of that team call for his starting spot every time he makes a mistake.

Our excitement has much more to do with his potential. And let's be honest, the pile of crap which preceded him. And we were all debating whether Mike Williams, a first round receiver by every scout's evaluation, would be a good fit for his skillset. That's a clear indication that he needs to improve on aspects of his game.

Dak has shown more in his one year in the league, and Carr has definitely looked to be the better QB thus far. That's not even counting the top tier of Rogers, Brady, Ryan, Brees, then Wilson, Luck, Roethlisberger, etc. Are we sure that we can even claim him to be a Top 10 QB at this point?

My biggest knock on Mariota is his injury problems thus far...Let's be honest, outside of Walker, he didn't have much to throw to. Yes, he had a good run game, but that's about it. He also went through a new GM/coach early on. If you look up his stats, it's damn impressive. He avoids the blitz well, good completion % and QB rating. Few interceptions...He is very good with vision and pocket presence, and he improved his deep ball. More importantly, his teammates believe in him. This year is truly going to define him in every sense. He has weapons galore, can he handle the expectations and produce? I believe he will, so long as he stays healthy.

While looking that up, the Ten/Hou franchise has only had 25(!?!) 1K yard WR since inception in 1960.
As a franchise, we only have 1 every 2 years. And of those 25, only 14 different WRs (the other 11 came from repeat 1000 yarders if I didn't explain that right).

I looked even more into this, we are actually one of the average franchises as far as total 1K WR in history.

    More than our 25:
    Denver - 40
    San Diego - 36
    GB - 35
    LA Rams - 32
    Arizona/Dallas - 31
    Washington - 30
    Detroit - 29
    Minnesota - 28
    Atl/Oak/Pit/SF - 27
    Ind - 26
    ***TEN*** tied w/ Cin/NYJ - 25

Jax has 15 since 94. Carolina has 17
Houston has 9 since 02. Baltimore has 12 since 96'.
Sea has 22 since 78, TB has 18 since 78.

They're all on a better pace than Tennessee.

    Enjoy!
    https://brickwallblitz.wordpress.co...ota-is-the-best-young-quarterback-in-the-nfl/

You have to look at the rare traits Mariota already possesses so early in his career. Some of them you really can't improve upon once entering the NFL.

He is without question our franchise QB. Titans franchise qb= The New Messiah
