The o/u is 9.5 rounds, last time I looked. I was shocked it was that high, considering how heavily Conor is underdogged.

I'd almost expect CM to give up out of frustration before then.

It will go 12 rounds. I don't think Mayweather can knock out McGregor and McGregor will be gassed after five. They'll hug it out for 7 rounds with Mayweather winning a unanimous decision 12-0

Mayweather isn't going to hug him. He's going to put on a clinic and it'll be his grand exit.

Think he won't show off on a bag, basically? He'll keep him at distance and just show how much energy he has.

People act like Mayweather isn't active- it's insane. The "know-jack-sh**" casual boxing fans cling to that whole "running" thing because they saw fighters they talked up to be able to beat Floyd not be able to land shots. While Floyd many times stood right in front of them and let them swing... and countered at will, landing more shots in the ends.

With someone like Pacquiao you may ease off the gas, because he'd have the ability to hit/hurt you. Connor doesn't, though.

I don't think Mayweather runs but he has nothing to gain from this fight regardless of how he wins other than money. McGregor will come out looking good in just about any scenario. BUT McGregor could knock out Floyd with a lucky punch, he has the power. That's why I think Mayweather rides it out once the fight's gone several rounds. Nothing to gain from exposing himself too much.

Conor definitely has the power and ability to KO Floyd. Floyd won't KO Conor, because he can't stop breaking his hand, so he doesn't throw with power anymore. That's why everyone thinks he runs, because he doesn't load up and fire with agression, because of his hand break problems. That makes him that much better of a boxer, to me ... he was once a ko artist early on, and had to adapt to a whole new style and seamlessly did so. He does back peddle and clinch, but he's the best defensive boxer in history.

The one knock I have isn't the "running", it's the clinching ... that's suppose to result in warnings and point deductions, when it's excessively done. but it's just because an accepted practice.

I don't see conor gassing too quickly in this fight. He usually gasses around the 8-9 min mark, but he also catches a 2nd wind in the 3rd round and doesn't look tired the rest of the fight. That when fighting 25 minutes with 4 minutes of rest. He will have 11 minutes of rest in this fight. If he does gas, he will be done for, though.

What makes it interesting is that mayweather has trouble with southpaws.

Anyone got their juices flowing for tonight's bellator card? Probably the biggest night in company history. MSG, 3 title fights, Fedor debuts and returns to actual MMA competition, Sonnen vs Wandy grudge match finally happens (years and years after it should've).

UFC news, Johnny Hendricks missed weight AGAIN today. This time at middleweight, after he wasn't able to make welterweight anymore. Tike for him to fight at his natural weight?

    No. He doesn't.

He'll be about the weakest puncher Floyd has faced in while. Less power and slower. If Shane Mosley couldn't knock Floyd out with the clean shots he landed... no f'cking way Connor can. Maidana, Canelo, JMM, etc all punch WAY harder than CM. And none of them even came close to KO'ing Floyd.

This would be like saying "Well, Tre McBride could get 100 yards receiving against the Patriots."... if in 30 games, no WR got 100 yards against them.

Don't disagree with this. But as much as he back pedals and clinches- he stands flat footed and lets people waste punches by missing.

Clinching is legal. Up to the ref to break it.

Lets not begin to pretend MMA is even half as active as boxing. Lot of standing around and walking. He's not used to this work. And doesn't have time to get used to it.

    That's a myth.

People claimed that. How much trouble did he have with Pacquiao? (known as the best southpaw of this generation) haha Made him look average.

De La Hoya was the one that fed this nonsense. But De La Hoya is a southpaw (fights orthodox, though)... and still got his *ss whooped almost an entire fight.

The only reason this is believed is because Zab Judah (still got wrecked) gave Floyd issues. But uhm.... Connor McGregor is no Zab Judah. lol And Zab gave everyone issues.

CM could have 4 left hands and he still wouldn't be able to win an amateur Golden Gloves bout. The guy is trash in the square ring.[/quote]

Here's this for more debunking of his struggling against Southpaws:

Average land % of southpaws vs Floyd: 19%

The guy is the greatest, and if that's his weakness... it even further solidifies that.

    Record vs southpaws: 8-0. 3 KO's.

Will Conor knock him out? No, probably not. But to say he couldn't isn't truthful. He has absolute KO power. That's undeniable. The reason he likely won't is because he isn't crisp technically (on a boxing level) and because he isn't a volume guy. He likes to load up. When you load up, Floyd is going to see you coming and he isn't going to be anywhere close to the business end of your arm.

According the WBO, WBC, IBF, etc, "Excessive grabbing, holding, and clinching" is a foulable offence that can result in warning, point deduction, and disqualification. To clinch is legal, to do it excessively throughout the fight or to attempt to alter the fight with clinching is not. It's just that refs choose not to enforce this particular rule.
