MM8 has regressed this season. He needs to be consistent and that's his struggle right now. I agree, it is tough for us to blame players because we all know this coaching staff is garbage, DC and OC must go ASAP. Tired of our CBs giving 20 yard cushion to WRs. Tired of offense game plan and play calling.

We had to keep referring to "potential" with our players, because all we can do is dream until we get a qualified OC. As I mentioned, Walker is one of the best TEs in the league, and Matthews was a priority for NE in free agency before we got them, which should tell you whether or not he's good enough to play on 32 teams in the league. Everyone else has been unproductive to disastrous as a target, despite us drafting some quality route runners.
I don't buy into this at all. There was a running play or screen against the Bengals where he was pushing his blocking assignment down the field and displaying the effort far beyond what one would expect out of a WR. There were also several routes he ran where he was held and instead of quitting and whining to the ref, he broke free and Mariota missed him. Shocking, he's usually so accurate.

Honestly I’d listen more except you cite the scheme as to why Davis can’t excel yet you want to blast our QB as being crap while in the SAME system. And although MM8 had a ba$ game, he’s actually produced whereas your man crush Davis hasn’t done jackchit. (yet!)

As I stated on another post, just seems like MM8 is trying to force the ball to him and make him be the "guy." Seriously, guy starts his 2nd game and automatically gets 10 targets last week and 7 yesterday while other proven guys got less. Why does Davis deserve the targets over guys that have proven to produce more than him so far this season; Decker, Smith, Taylor.

I saw the highlights to see what everyone was talking about. The criticism for Davis on that play is absolutely ridiculous. It was a bad decision by Mariota.

At worst, you could say it was miscommunication. Before the ball is thrown, Davis appears as if he's turning to run up the field. Which would have been the right place to go, as the CB was coming beneath and that part of the field was open. He couldn't get to the throw on time, as he obviously wasn't expecting for it to arrive at a place where it shouldn't have been thrown.
That was meant to be a knock against the coaching staff, not Mariota. There is absolutely no other reason that he and this passing offense would have taken such a step back with another year under his belt for any reason other than the scheme being exposed by opposing defenses.
