Yeah, let's get rid of the best QB we've had in a decade because good ones can be found anywhere.

Maybe if we had a coaching staff that wasn't complete garbage you might have a leg to stand on, but we have the most inept offensive staff in the league. Marcus has not been good this year, but when the offensive scheme is this limited I'd be shocked at anything else.

He's admitting that he's having issues with properly planting his feet into his throws. I wonder if it's given him a bit of a bad habit with the way he steps into his throws or something?

 

He does not step into throws. His deep ball is trash, his short ball is trash, and he threw 2 INTs right to the other team.

 

Coaching makes all the difference for young quarterbacks. We have probably the worst, bargain-bin offensive coaching staff in the NFL. Mariota deserves a chance with a competent OC and coaches.

 

he was excellent last year. He also benefited from a great running game. Without a a good running game and a poor offensive staff, he hasn't proven to be a good QB. Still, he should be better than *this.*

 

I think that is likely the case, and I would imagine it is easily correctable over the off season.

But he is the one constantly calling plays with slow developing 2 receiver routes.
