that was the story of the Falcons season last year. im not saying crumpler made vince young look bad or good, but if vick was making everyone around him better, why were so many of his receivers dropping catchable balls? and why did his team get a top 10 draft pick?

You can say that, but what has everyone's excuse been for Vick around the league? (it might sound really familiar)

    "He wins games"

And you can not make players better. That's some bs jargon that commentators use. You might be able to inspire those around you, or maybe even make them try harder, but if they suck they suck. You aren't going to make them catch when they can't.

You can definitly make the players around you better. It's called leading them and inspiring them. After you do that you put them into a position to make plays an ex. delivering a good ball in stride.

To say Vick has no talent it could be that.......nah Vick sucks and the guys around him suffer since he stares down Crumpler. Let's see Warrick Dunn and Duckett for a couple of year now Norwood. they had the best running game in the NFL. Crumpler is a Pro Bowl TE and White was a 1st rounder while Jenkins a 2nd I think along with a top WR Price. They went to A-Town and floundered was it Vicks passing? Or do all WR's suck when they go to Atlanta.

Vick has zero charisma and all his coaches baby him.....Mora. He isn't a leader and doesn't inspire his teamates. VY has a thing they call "it" few have and the greats to it's a do whatever it takes mentality and I want the ball when the pressures on and we need a play. Vick does not have that that have tried to draft so many weapons for this guy I mean it can't be that the FO is that bad it's gotta be something else my guess and logical choice is Vick.

  4. Gloat, u could not be more wrong... there are definately players that can make everyone play better... u could see it this year with our own team, when they took kerry out and put vinec in, everybody was out of the huddle and jogging with authority back to the LOS and everyone was playing much better throughout the season when he was behind the center

Say what you want, but an 8 game stretch to end the season is a pretty big sample. If not for a 4TD game against Dallas, Vick's second half numbers would have been downright pathetic, and they were in most of those games.

    Summary:

Vick is a 6 year veteran who started hot and then faded badly as the season went on. If not for the hot start, his season would have been mediocre like the last few he has had.

Vince was a rookie who didn't start the first three games, and struggled some in his first few starts, but got more comfortable as the season went on and played better than the 6 year veteran over the second half of the season.

    Question:

Which of these is the trend you want to have for your team?

Doesn't matter who I'd rather have. Truth is, in 2007 Vick was more efficient. Throw out all the bs excuses, and that's how it is. It shouldn't kill anyone to admit that.
Vince shows more up-side than Vick did at his age.

And you can't make players better. It's not possible. Unless you've got some magical powers, it can't be done. You're not going to make anyone faster, anyone stronger, anyone better. You may make someone inspired, but it's up to THEM to play to their potential and their potential is all they can play to. It's a figure of speech.

Vick had a couple monster games, besides that he was not more effective. Plus Vick started 4 more games than Vince

    Vince: 2199yards passing, 552 rushing, 20tds, 16 turnovers
    Vick: 2474 passing yards, 1039 rushing, 22tds, 16 turnovers

Seems pretty close even though Vince had less experience and less playing time. Pittsburg, Cincy, and Dallas accounted for 11tds and 760 yards passing in 3 games for Vick.

    vinces stats over 16 games... 2706pass 679rush 25tds 20to

now i didnt take into account the total # of minutes played or anything... be nice if someone did that for true statistical comparison.... but this is inflated stats with 3 games added to his total

News flash: Vick is a six-year veteran, and a former Pro Bowl QB.....he's SUPPOSED to be more efficient than Vince, or any other rookie QB. If he's not, then something is very, very wrong.

What's incredible is the number of areas where Vince is already far superior to Vick. Even as a rookie, VY's intangibles were off the chart; his leadership, poise, and game presence are already comparable to any QB in the league.

Personally, I'm absolutely ecstatic with Vince's progress thus far....and he's only going to get better.

The Vick comparisons are inevitable; however, I believe that within a year or two, Vince will be far beyond the point where people compare him to anyone. He probably won't put up the eye-popping stats of a Peyton Manning or Drew Brees, but his impact on the game will be just as significant.

And he'll be right up there with those guys in the one statistic that truly counts.....the number of W's.
