One player who truly deserves a spot on this list for his play is Adam "Pacman" Jones. With the exception of Champ Bailey, who is in a class by himself, Jones is as good a cover corner as there is in the league, and is just scratching the surface of his abilities. He also plays the game with a nasty edge.

Jones is extremely fast and explosive out of his breaks. He is very fluid in transition and has exceptional ball skills. Once he gets his hands on the ball, few defensive players in the league can compete with his run-after-catch ability. He is a superb return man, but an even better cornerback. Given his tenuous status due to his off-field issues, we left him off this list. I wouldn't necessarily want Jones on my team, but I certainly wouldn't want to play against him, either.

I think P.Jones is/was on his way to being in that top-level category, but you do have to get there first. Right now, he's got 2 seasons and 4 picks.

A.Samuel - 4 & 16, and R.Mathis - 4 & 20. Not that that's everything, but one (almost) full season of good coverage does not the top 5 yet make. He can make it there, but being able to and doing it are two different things.

I consider Pacman to be one of the top five or ten players in the entire NFL. Crazy? Hear me out.

How many players in the league have the ability to not only control a game, but to actually change a game? I'm talking about players whose individual presence literally adds 3-4 wins in a single season? Not many at all.

Pacman Jones changes games in ways that few players are capable of. Even when teams try to gameplan around him, he finds ways to make an impact. And when they don't gameplan around him, he rips them to shreds. The guy is an absolutely elite playmaker, with very few peers.

Considering Pacman's ability and the Titans' investment in him (dollars and draft value), I simply don't see any way for the Titans to part ways with him.

By cutting Jones, the Titans would gain nothing more than a sense of closure. They would not only be writing off the millions of dollars they've already paid him, but they'd also be declaring the value of that #6 pick overall to be null and void....no value whatsoever. (Especially tough when you consider the overall lack of production from their first round picks in recent years). Moreover, they'd be opening themselves up to the possibility of facing him in the future....also a very unattractive possibility.

You can't coach players up to become playmakers, and you really can't even scout them. Finding a player of Jones' caliber is like winning the lottery.

As such, I believe the Titans will do everything in their power to ensure that, if he does come back to the NFL, he will be in a Titans uniform. It's just a matter of whether Mr. Jones can grow up, and keep his composure long enough to get himself reinstated.

You know there is a benefit of Pacman not being able to train. He can't be Schwartzified.

I agree Nine, Pac is over all, one of the best, and just plain fun to watch, players I've seem in 35 years of watching football...I hope he can put his problems behind him and wear a Titan uniform for years to come.

Another thing...I've noticed the National sports media knockin' on us again this off season ( we should be used to it by now) But their complaint seems crazy to me...Last year we had one of the worst defenses in football. And no doubt part of the problem was our secondary...Even without Pac it seems we've made some good improvements in that area...I don't get that criticism.

Yeah, we could use some more weapons on offense. But who have we really lost, and who were we supposed to get....Sure we all liked Drew, but was he really that great of a WR...I don't really think so...Loved Bobby Wade, but for the money he was offered, I would have let him go..

Then there's Travis...Anybody remember last year at this time...Everybody thought he was awful ( and he had been in 05) Some of us wondered if he'd even make the team....He had a good year...And while I don't want to take too much from him. He was running behind a O Line that really came together...We still got that O Line and someone will step up and carry the rock for us as well as Henry did last year....My opinion --I could be wrong

  10. i got to say i'm another huge pacman fan always was and probaly will always be.Despite his off the field antics the guy has some serious talent and just beginning to scrape the surface in this league.I can probably speak for all of us that we hope pac pulls through this hurdle in his life and gets back on the field in a titans uniform. The guy is electric and like some of you have mentioned before he single handedly can change a came. You can't teach that or practice it.And i think that it is a huge advantage that tennessee has on the defensive side of that ball.In my opinion, Vince is the same way on offense that way he can just turn nothin into somethin. This year i think Vince is going to take off and put this team on his back.Hopefully we can get out of the gates quick and be contenders up untill week 10 till pac come back which i think he will be.Everything after that with pac in there will be gravy...
