That is just crazy. This just makes me think that the same thing will happen to Pac Man. Godell really is taking this too far suspending players.

Odell did the time for his crime... Another year is simply too much. It's not like the guy tortured or murdered animals or something.. Goodel needs to go.

    Not possible.

Gary Bettman wins that. Hands down.

The NFL has a luxury that the various justice systems do not, they are not restricted by overcrowding.
They don't have to put geeks on probation because there is no room in jail.

And that creates a very different standard.

What are the particulars here? A drug test failed, then a DUI?
It isn't worth putting him in jail, and I probably would not suspend him for it either if I was the decision-maker.

But, it is something the NFL can do.

Hopefully it will deflate the egos of professional athletes, and make them realize that they have bosses, and they can lose their jobs and money if they misbehave.

Plenty of jobs involving security clearance or ad spokesmen, etc. could trigger a termination of contract with that kind of behavior, so it isn't as if only the athletes are held to this standard.

^ I do agree with you and I actually do think Godell is trying to clean up the league, but I am just questioning his decision on Thurman. I don't think it is right at all to suspend him again. He is young, he made mistakes he did the time and sat out a year. I would let him play this year, and if he screws up again then take action.
