Hindsight is 20/20, but is Michael Turner worth that 2nd round pick NOW?

People said over and over again that a 2nd for Turner was too much to give. I didn't think so, because he showed more on the pro-level than any running back in the draft. He was proven, and is good enough to be a huge asset to many teams across the league.
But we didn't give. Instead we spent our 2nd round pick wisely by drafting a guy named Chris Henry. A guy that showed nothing in preseason other than he has the worst vision ever, and a guy that hasn't suited up for a game in the 2007 season for any reason. Not special teams, not offense. Nothing.

So the question really is: Would you trade Chris Henry for Michael Turner?

Turner had 147 yards today against the Broncos.

^74 yards of it right there.
He's averaging 7.4 yards per carry, and this is nothing unusual as he averages 6.2 yards per carry in his 4 years playing. He also has the best yards after contact stats in the league.

weren't they asking for a first on draft day?

    EDIT:

"The Titans reportedly have a new contract in place with Michael Turner.
However, Tennessee isn't expected to part with its first-round pick. The Titans could switch in their 2008 first-rounder, but figure to be worse this season with numerous losses and probably wouldn't be smart to do so."

"Titans coach Jeff Fisher says the Chargers upped their asking price for Michael Turner on Saturday, ending the possibility of a trade.
"It became obvious to us they were not willing to move him," Fisher said. "They wanted the assurance of knowing they had a backup to LaDanian Tomlinson, I think." Turner is now almost certain to remain a Charger."

Better blocking? Don't judge on one game, the O line is playing great ball, the Titans are 4th league in rushing O (if memory serves). So I really don't get your point.

Who can say. There's no guarantee that our running game would be better with Turner and then we would have looked equally foolish had we spent a 1st or 2nd pick on him.
Now whether Chris Henry is a wasted pick is up for debate, I personally prefer a 2nd round pick who can perform in year 1, even if only as a backup.

Turner is maybe worth a 2nd round pick, but not a 1st. This is to much to ask for and I would have been dissapointed with that decision. Now even though Turner is older I still choose him over Chris Henry. Now I know he's young and I have not been hard on him yet, but it is very frustrating when you can't get a first day draft pick onto the field.

Turner has as much or more power than LW (note yards after contact) and has the speed to break off long runs. The guy is very good and has a perfect NFL build for a RB. I seriously doubt (although I could be wrong) that Henry will ever be in this guys league.

IMO Turner might have been worth as high as a 1st rounder IF the agreed contract was reasonable. Look at it like this. If a stud RB was available when we picked would he be worth drafting? The anser is absolutely considering at that time we obviously had not used a pick on Henry and also had not signed Brown. If the contract was favorable I would have given them a 1st. After this year, with the continued success Turner is having I would bet the contract he is going to get will be extremely expensive.
So, not knowing what the details of the contract were but knowing the Titans had already come to an agreement I would assume the contract was favorable.
