Are you implying that those events couldn't have happened if Pacman Jones hadn't been there??? There were fourty people brawling in the street when the shooting took place. You think that was all because Pacman Jones got into it with some strippers???

I hate to be splitting hairs, but Tank Johnson was arrested on suspicion of DUI, and his blood alcohol was below the legal limit. He wasn't driving drunk, and therefore didn't do anything illegal (that time). The league can't further punish him for alledged offenses.

That said, I think the guy is a Bozo and I don't care if he ever plays in the league again. But he didn't get another DUI. But he probably will...

Hate to break the current topic, but just looking at PitBull's video, as a former avid watcher of wrestling, I'm quite disappointed to see that Pac's got like no charisma out there. He really looks lost. Did he actually open his mouth at any point during that match? You'd think that if they aren't letting him rassle, they'd let him be all mouthy. Ho-hum.
Anyhoo, I'm just hoping that, a while from now, this wrestling stint will just be a distant memory we can have a chuckle about, as Pac plays a prosperous career with the Titans.

...And if I seem like I'm being leniant on the man, I probably am; the last screw-up was his 'last chance' in my eyes, but I'm giving him one more, because if this suspension didn't open his eyes, nothing ever will.

My contention has always been the policy is arbitrarily enforced because the commissioner empowered himself to determine "what tarnishes the shield". The commissioner does not need guilt in the legal system to justify league sanctions against a player.

In Tank Johnson's case, the commissioner allowed a convicted felon who has served his time but then operated a vehicle with alcohol in his bloodstream back into the league within 12 months. (A player who was on a large market team and allowed to go to a large market team who was as embroiled in controversy as much as our own).

I remain perplexed how people tolerate the suspension of one of our players who has only ALLEGATIONS against him.

I have a bias against "thug life" and "street life" in the same way I have a bias against violent criminals.

These are not "merely biases that should be struggled against" rather they are aberrant behaviors that should be condemned and punished.

No one can rationally argue that we should be tolerant of violent criminals.
