I actually think he's been pretty accurate myself. He's completing almost 65%of his throws is he not? The reality is that we are running the ball really well. So short throws are ok. We haven't needed 3rd and 10 throws this year. And that is the power of Vince. His sacks have only been for 4 yards on average, whhich is really good, if he is even sacked at all. Our only real problem has been scoring TD's through the air. We have been scoring points. We average almost 21 a game. I really don't see the problems that everyone else has seen. I only see one problem and that is TD Throws. He' not being sacked, and he only averages 1 int a game even tho he threw a boatload in one game. Exactly where is the problem if he's completing 65% to a bunch of average receivers. I just don't see it. I don't. I will agree that he needs to run more, because he can, but he still has 130 yds already. and he continues to do what we thought he would do, win.

I thought there was several dropper passes...and we didn't try to really thro the ballat all. White and Henry are beasts and I think we finally have a set combo.

    1. Vince is in year 2 of Chow's QB development plan. I'm sure it is as frustrating to Vince as is it for us to watch.

    2. Yesterday's game plan was to run first, throw as opportunity allows.

    3. Our WR's DID NOT execute- o/w at least 2 "for sure" TD's and probably 3. If our WR's catch those, we wouldn't be having near as much discussion.

    4. VY's pass to Troupe was where it should have been. Troupe was not. He lost footing (left foot slipped) on his "out cut". He could have caught up to the ball with acceleration if he had judged it correctly. That is ENTIRELY on Troupe- Vince can't be held accountable for Troupe being where he is supposed to be.

    5. Yes- Vince's mechanics are not great but they are getting better.

    6. HE HAD NO TURNOVERS which is EFFIN AWESOME.

    7. We won the game. We scored when we had to- the defense held up when it had to. Good teams win close games. And give Oakland some credit- they had a good D scheme and executed it well. They were disruptive at times.

What the hell is wrong with some of you people? This is a good team, VY IS a good QB. He is developing on schedule and his development plan is a solid one.

I feel solid going in against the colts. I have no idea if we could even keep it close with the pats for a half. They've been scary, truly scary this year.

Why wouldnt they take the ball????

Why wouldn't the Titans take the ball to start the game???? If they don't then the Raiders get it to start the game and to start the 2nd half!!! Did you want that to happen???

To keep from saying that he sucks, I'm just going to go with this; He's Madden cursed. And hopefully he'll be ok next year.

  8. Chow obviously knows that. That's why he keeps running the ball into the teeth of the defense.

The problem isn't Chow. The problem is that opposing defenses DO KNOW that Vince isn't Leinart. They know he is a terrible passer. That's why they all stack the box and dare the Titans to throw the ball. The Raiders almost exclusively brought a safety up to play the run. And despite this, he still threw just 14 passes.

The reason they don't throw the ball is because they know Vince isn't a decent passer. They aren't avoiding it just because they want to run it. If Vince was even a decent passer, they'd throw it more just to force defenses to back off the line. Our run game would be much better if opposing teams went back to their base defense.

And all you VY apologists need to understand this...

we're winning games with him at qb and that's what's important to me. and like last year, whenever he's on the field i still have that same confidence that he can do anything and hell somehow find a way to win.

I'm not sure Leinart is a good example. He wasn't exactly striking fear in anyone's D this year, but I get the point and I agree. Vince Young is not currently a good passing quarterback.

I saw the way he passed the ball in college and I have hopes that he'll achieve that kind of success and comfort level in the NFL, but right now he's pretty one dimensional.
