Only thing is what we lack is speed and a WR who can stretch the field and get seperation. Mike Williams is big and slow and apparently doesn't have very good hands either.
Mike Williams is a bigger version of Moulds with a lousy attitude and lousy hands. He certainly doesn't offer anything Gage doesn't already give us. Williams hasn't been confused with any work out warriors in the past either. Besides, who do you cut to make room for him? Troupe might be the best option because I sure couldn't see them letting go of one of our young WRs and unless they are really displeased with Moulds or Gage I don't see either of them leaving either. Williams is a guy who has been out right dumped now by two teams and the Lions used a very high pick on the guy and still didn't have any use for him.

Yeah, I have the same idea as many, what do we have to loose. Thus far our recieving group is what everyone on espn said they would be before the season, one of the worst recieving groups in the league. Williams was a stud at USC and could potentially be a good reciever in the league if he is put in the right offense. He's played with Chow before, and we have cap room at this point and if he plays bad we do what the Raiders do, cut him. It's not like we're loosing a draft pick for him.

Exactly, I've said before. You got a guy who was doin a pretty good job in pre-season, and who acts like he wants to play football, and has the potential. He won't be any worse than what we got now. Put him on the field.

I'd cut Troupe now. We all know that he doesn't have a future with us so why not just go ahead and move on. I'd bring up one of the TEs from the PS or give Williams a shot if they think he can learn the "Troupe Package" quickly. Might as well give somebody else a shot at making a play since Troupe certainly doesn't seem able.

Troupe needs a couple things to be productive:

    1. Time on the field.
    2. A quarterback that can throw.

And so far he's got neither. Love how people attack him because he didnt go after an overthrown ball, and instead of putting blame on Vince, they'll bash the receiver for the rest of his time here.
Note: Troupe was good when Billy was throwing.

After the Raiders game, Ben Troupe said:
    "It’s all on me."

I'm guessing he had a gun to his head to say such a thing. I guess he was thinking about that gun again when he dropped his opportunity yesterday too.

Troupe had 55 receptions two seasons ago. He now has two. Scaife has 24. You want us to believe this is all on Young? Hartsock has triple the receptions and he's a blocking TE.

Fisher said a few hours ago. "Ben Troupe has had two opportunities in the last two weeks, and he hasn’t made the catch."

    Whoops.

Think he might get his number called more often if he could run the right route and catch the ball?

so was drew bennett, but having marc bulger hasn't helped him. maybe billy just sprinkles a little bit of fairy dust on the ball before every snap?

and it's not just the fans who are jumping on troupe either.

even troupe is calling himself out

    TE BEN TROUPE

    (on his dropped pass)

It’s all on me. It’s one of those opportunities that we needed to take advantage of. It’s the NFL. They seldom come often and we need to take advantage of it. We have to find a way on offense to make more plays, so that in the fourth quarter we don’t have to be crawling and scratching.

Brandon Jones took all the responsibility on that colts game pass too. Did VY? It was no more either's fault than the other in both situations (troupe endzone/jones drop).
