Playing it too safe with Young?

Strong words from Sterling Sharpe. On NLF network... Sharpe stated that Young can't even make the most " elementary read ". Going as far as to break him down on the illustrator. At one point I thought he was going to bring up his score of 6 on the Wonderlic test.

 

lol I used to think that Sterling had a clue. I swear I cant stand the analysts on TV...how do they even have jobs?

 

We almost never, ever go deep downfield. The QB has the arm to do it. That inescapably leads to one of two conclusions:

1. The WR corps is too slow or unskilled to get free downfield
2. The offensive coaching staff is too inept to scheme people free downfield, or too afraid to try.

Norm Chow sucks, and we're stuck without our top WRs from last year. Our big name free agent is on the PUP list (hi David!), and our most recent free agent WR is... Eric Moulds? NOT SURPRISING that the passing game is abysmal.

 

IMO the offense is way to complex which is why we have our QB and WRs constantly not on the same page.

Also, VY's QB rating form the shotgun is almost 72 verses 62 overall. That tells me he has a harder time getting his reads when he goes form center.

 

To complex... Young has one read. It can't get any more simpler for him.

 

Vince throws one of the worst deep balls in the league. Just because he has the arm strength doesnt mean he can throw the fade.

 

Vince can't even throw.

 

One problem, as I see it, is that VY is locking on to just one WR. I've seen it several times. It's easy to defend a Q when he does that.

 

If you pay any attention during the game you will notice Vince looks at 1 maaaaybe 2 recievers when he drops back, dude is not the sharpest tool in the shed...the offense is dumbed down to high school plays because we have a slow minded QB. This is the reason why you don't make a person with the literacy of a 4th grader the leader of your organization. This is how OCs, HCs, WRs get fired/cut. See "Atlanta" for example. To fix the problem you must first accept the true problem. It is the QB.
