Sweed has not shown the ability that Burress did in college. There are lots of big, slow receivers who are not nearly Burress' caliber. What makes you think that Sweed is?

There are lots of small fast WRs that aren't very good either. The main thing is to get a good WR who has great instincts, body control, hands, runs nice routes and isn't ridiculously slow. As long as the guy has below 4.6 speed he should be fast enough IMO.

As far as getting a guy who can take a 10 yard slant and take it to the house there really aren't many guys who can do that consistently. Heck, any fast guy could possibly do that once or twice a year. What we really need is consistency IMO. Saying we have to have a guy who is "elusive and fast" who can take it to the house probably would eliminate most of the better WRs right now in the NFL, Plexico Burris included.

Makes James Hardy interesting, IMO. Hear his work ethic isn't so great, but his body control is. Reportedly runs a 4.53 at 6'7" and 220.

big james hardy fan in round 2 if we don't go WR round 1 but something tells me he could move up big time.

    Speed

The 40 is highly over rated at the reciver position. For an old and new comparison Chad Johnson ran a 4.59 at his combine, Jerry Rice in the 4.6 to 4.7 range.

Give me a reciver that can catch the ball, runs good routs and is football smart.

    Sounds like Sweed to me.

Sweed isn't very good. I swear we've got more texas longhorn/vince fans than titan fans here now.

Nah! I like my Syracuse Orangemen. You probably like Keith Bulluck. David Tyree, Giants, also came from the program, that beautiful helmet catch in the SB.

Jim Brown, Larry Czonka, Joe Morris, Art Monk & Gary Anderson weren't too bad. Donovan McNabb, Marvin Harrison, Donovin Darius & Dwight Freeney aren't too bad either.

I would like the Sweed pick if the coaches feel that he can go up and get it in the red zone. His Jr year he averaged a TD per game. I am not as worried about speed-good example with Plaxico. We need a guy who can go up and make catches in the red zone and Sweed MIGHT be that guy to throw the fade to.
