Eagles came super close to signing him, according to a few sources. Offered slightly more money but he chose to stay in a good situation.

 

Not much of a surprise. The only real surprise is that New England gave him that much. If he can be productive there, and make money, and maybe win a superbowl, then it's got to be worth it to him.

 

New England's low balling will eventually catch up with them. I am a little pissed they can get away with it. But this marketing scam they've got going really works. Everyone thinks they can go there, sign cheap, and have a chance at a superbowl and it sucks, cause it's working.

 

As soon as Brady retires that ends. Other pieces can come in and out but you can't replace a franchise QB that quickly and if you've got a hole there then anybody will be hesitant.
