I think I agree with TJ about Odom - the deal was generous, but it was reasonable and the Titans could have matched it. Odom did benefit tremendously from the AH/KVB tandem, but the point is that he took advantage of the opportunities he got. Either there's more that we're not hearing, or the Titans feel like Fisher can step up... Whatever the reason, this might indicate that MR & Co. are committed to a long term deal for AH. They've targeted the core of the D that they want to keep intact, and are more committed to getting that deal done even if it means losing some other contributors.

Good for Woolfolk. I hope he makes the most of the opportunity. He gave too much cushion in man coverage, but he did tackle pretty well. I wish him well.

    Now that was unexpected!

I guess they have a fetish for other teams' 1st round picks...

They have been scoring several of them in FA this year.

Anyone got a link to WU posting on a Jets forum about how their savior has arrived? :ha:

Hey Jeff, any thoughts on who we might look at for DE?

The Tennessean reports Kearse is coming in for a visit. I really am not excited about it. I'm also skeptical he'd get more than the vet minimum with incentives. I doubt he's healthy enough to be an every down DE and has lost too much speed to be a pass rushing specialist. But I could be wrong.

I'd be shocked they gave him an offer until after the draft.

Fisher is an unknown though I've not heard anyone whose seen him in practice talk about him being starting material. They may use him for running downs and someone else for passing situations. Then there's Ford who we don't know will even make the team after his injury and Conover who probably isn't more than depth.

That points to using a day one pick at DE and I don't know if there is anyone I like beyond the top tier guys who will be long gone by 24.

As you may have gathered reading this, I'm not very optimistic right now. But we have a long way to go and I'm sure more options will become available leading up to training camp.

I think we are solid at the TE position. I thought Scaife would also have a break out year, but he still had a decent year considering there were some mitigating circumstance that I think many are not taking into account.

    1. This was VY's 1st year - he's a rookie GIVE HIM A BREAK
    2. The team is still young and this is Scaife's 3nd year, plus there was a new TE coach this year...all of which would impact anyone's game
    3. No true receivers, or the ones we have they are still wet behind the ears...it appears most true player makers don't come into their game until their 4 or 5 year!

Patience's is key give our team time. IMO the biggest problem I see are many of the faces are changes so fast from year to year how can they build any comrade among themselves. Also VY has another year under his belt, and he's only going to get BETTER, which our receivers will improve along with him.
