This draft has been one big mistake. Nine WRs drafted ahead of us in the second round -- all we had to do was move up ANY amount of spots, and at least we could have gotten Sweed.

NFL.com's scouting report on Jason Jones said he "Needs to get bigger and stronger." I mean, isn't that the prime qualification for defensive linemen? That they're BIG and STRONG? This guy was a reach. He only had 3.5 sacks against the Mid-American Conference. So not only is he undersized, he can't play.

Mike Reinfeldt is incompetent and should be fired. The first pick was an admission of failure last year, and this pick was a demonstration that he cannot judge DEs and mismanaged losing Odom in FA.

We could have had EITHER of these players in the third round. Looks like we're heading into the season with no threatening receivers -- again.

    BOTTOM LINE IS THIS:

#1) Vince won't get better with our current WR roster...so Macareins is supposed to solve all our problems? An injury prone/hasbeen TE? What is wrong with our organization? We might as well not even bother drafting another offensive player because the organization is OBVIOUSLY content with our team as it is...we could have easily had Sweed, Kelly, or Doucet by trading down, but we'd rather save our picks that will prove to be mediocre at best.

    2) Drafting a DE from EASTER MICHIGAN? Picking up a 32 year old, injury prone defensive end in Kearse? That's supposed to solve all our problems? We could have traded up to get Quentin Groves (but instead he went to a AFC South rival). MR has NO CLUE WHAT HE IS DOING. We let go Leboy and Odom, and now we have a rookie and Jevon Kearse. Well, we're definately safe, now.

    3) We barely got to see how Chris Henry played last year, and he's going to use our precious first round pick to take some player from some school I've never heard of......? So you admit to your first mistake (Henry) by making another one (Johnson)? That's logical.

    MR IS A ****ING IDIOT.

Either our organization is giving up on Vince or they honestly think that Gage, Mcareins, and Brandon Jones will save the day! Paul Williams and Chris Davis are awesome! We'll be fine!

well IMO it's not just the GM in the past 5 years this team has drafted at least 50 players I bet you couldn't name 25 of them that have panned out as good to excellent players? you disagree? Name em!

So because a player is drafted from a small school, he has no shot of making it in the NFL? There's plenty of examples all around the league that shoots holes right through your argument. Fact is, it's way too early to be projecting anything for these draft picks. So here's a suggestion, why don't you leave the draft to the people who actually get paid to do it, and you continue to sit on your couch with potato chips in one hand and a soda in the other, ok?

It's very possible they move him inside to DT which may mean Brown will go back to DE in '09 on run downs.

An exellent pick i think. Not a big pass rusher but a tough run defender who is a nice fit at DT or DE in our system. A nice complement to kearse and fisher.
