Welcome to the big league Vince.

It isn't the strength of the current, but the steadiness of the drip that forges canyons. I don't like any part of this story. One and done? Please grow up Vince.

A story like this does question his desire to play ball- especially during the rough times. I know Vince has the skills to be an exceptional NFL QB- very much like McNair. It concerns me, though, that I thought we getting a "winner", the guy with the "it" factor, etc. Guys with the "it" factor aren't thinking about throwing in the towel after one season- even if the FO isn't surrounding them with the talent they think they might need.

The Vince I thought we were getting would jump up after a knock (like the Giants game) hop around and then score a TD the next play. Maybe he shouldn't have come out early. I don't know- I hope his head is on straight this season.

Well, I was just watching the Bulls championship video for no good reason, and they talk about Pippen wanting to quit his rookie year too. He said he was thinking to much, and not enjoying justp laying. I think it's just the realization that they have job now. And there's no two ways around it. It is a job. The college experience is gone. We all go through it. You can still have fun, you just can't have fun. You've got to reinvent yourself when you get to the NFL. And that is hard work. Once you get all of that behind you, then you can relax and let the game come to you. Hopefully he is there, or on his way. I want him to have fun, I do. But when it's time to go to work you go to work.

Why is this such a big deal? He persevered. He came back for the sophmore campaign and managed to "lead" his team to the playoffs... ok, ok... he wasn't exactly everything we may have hoped for last year... given the 563 int's and all... but the point is he got right back up on that horse and rode into the play-offs... sure, they can try to detract from that... Sure the Titans backed in and w/o that "d"... well, forget it... but screw it... how he felt a year ago making the adjustment doesn't make a lick bit of difference of who he is today. He's stronger for overcoming that. :vince:

awwww poor baby wanted to quit after one yr...guess not being the big man on campus got to him. Looks like Chow was right....Young is a pouter if things don't go his way.

While I am not a Young fan (but then again I never liked a running QB) I do hope he has gotten this crap behind him.

You could tell that he was not all there last year. I dont know if it was because of family issues or whatever but, there were numerous times were he just looked out of it and not prepared. I know one thing he has run out of excuses , quad , o-coordinator and now family problems. he must produce this year!

Can you explain how this shows he's a pouter when things aren't going his way? He won rookie of the year, went to the pro bowl, and was on the cover of madden when this happened. If this happened after this season what your saying would make sense but not after last season. And chow was an idiot, there's a reason the guys been a coach for 35 years and has only be in the nfl for 3 of those.

Pro Bowl...hahahaa...only reason he went is because McNair stepped aside for him to go. He did not have the stats to be there.

Chow is a idiot because he coached in college for 32 yrs and 3 yrs in the pros  He may not have been the best OC we have had but his style wasn't a lot different from anyone else in that position except for Dinger.

Chows statement that Young pouts is dead on. Only the folks who worship Young can't see that he isn't all he was hyped to be. I really hope he gets his head out of his butt and realizes it takes hard work not hype to be good in the NFL.

Look at all those loser Texas fans who came on here raving about his passing skills...LMAO at those skills..couldn't hit the broad side of a barn if it was
10 yds in front of him. Can't blame the WR's all the time when Young's accuracy sucks.

Again look at my original post. I said I have never been a fan of running QB's and that is what Young is. Will he become a passing QB...maybe. If anyone can get it out of him it will be Dinger.

    Hi Gunny :neener:

oh how can I be a blind hater when I have said this from the day we drafted him. I said the same thing about Jones and was raked over the coals for my comments..who ended up being right on that :brow:

I've never seen a positive post from you Ewker, so I guess if you do enough hatin, you're bound to be right sometimes. But you're wrong about Vince.

Vince completed over 62% of his passes last year, so I don't think accuracy was the real problem. The bigger problems were poor decision making by Vince, poor play calling by Chow, Vince's leg injury that hampered his mobility, and a lack of top shelf receiving options.

Hopefully this year Vince will stay healthy, Dinger's offense will be better than Chow's, and most importantly, Vince will make better decisions running the offense. Not sure our receiving options are a lot better, but Crumpler was a nice addition.

Anyway, you shouldn't begrudge a guy for struggling mentally and emotionally when he has problems in his family life at the same time that he is under intense professional pressure and scrutiny. Vince obviously got through it and he didn't quit, and the Titans made the playoffs, so what's the big deal?

It looks to me at this point like the biggest mistake Vince made was opening up about his personal struggles to an unfeeling and uncaring public and media who seem to expect their football stars to be single-minded football robots instead of regular people.

Vince is a player that is at his best when he's having fun. If he wasn't having fun, then I can see why he'd wanna quit. Thing about Vince is he says things that other players are afraid to say, then we over analyze it. I bet Eli considered quitting after his first year. Vince isn't the only player to ever consider quitting. Be glad this team has a QB that is so honest and lets you know whats on his mind. You could have a mindless robot that only reguritates PR answers.
