Actually, if you equaled out the age difference, I would take Jones. Running backs wear down easily, and are a dime a dozen. However, LTs protect a QB, and are a stabalizing force on the offense. I'd take LT over Larry Allen (same age again) but a HOF C or a HOF RB? I''m taking the center, because he can keep the line organized and on track.

The line on both sides are the most important. The Giants proved that last year.

How many teams BUT denver succeed with average backs like they do? Once you can provide more than 1 team out of 32 with that logic, you might have a case.
You think if it's that easy, other teams but Denver wouldn't have already tried that one?

    C'mon...

I'd put the QB first. But the lines are right after that.

The only way you win that argument is if you have a great line. I think the saints were pretty good evidence of how "overrated" CBs are, eh?
Just because the giants have a great line, doesn't mean every other team in the NFL does.

You guys should really stop looking at one team and making absurd claims on an entire league's positions.

The Colts and the Pats do well with their backs. Really, so do we. Any team with a good QB can have success with the running game. However, it usually is not enough to win a Super Bowl.

And you look at one crappy team for your argument. As long as you do not have Jason David or someone as bad as your corner, you won't see a difference big enough to make a consistent difference. And a lot of teams have bad lines. No one ever said different.

this is fairly dumb. all the statesment have some level of truth and some level of ridiculousness. previous teams success or failures can't be linked directly to how good or bad an rb is, hof or not. It takes a good OL to run the ball well. End of story. If the OL can block, dude will get 5yards every time. 5 yards per play is probably not that great, if you can't pass the ball. Even if you could pass the ball, you wouldn't win championships if you didn't have a decent defense. So to say that rb is overrated is dumb because if it were overrated teams wouldn't bother. Its like saying kicking is overrated. But if teams didn't have kickers that could kick it through the uprights, they might not actually win games. however i will agree that cornerback is the most overrated position!!

No, I can look at any team without a GREAT pass rush and show you that passing yards allowed is suicide.
I'd rather have a team try to run on me all game than know they can pass.

Yup. Pass rush is basically as important to a defense as QB play is to an offense. We showed last year that a team built on running the ball all the time won't win a Super Bowl. And the Giants proved that a pash rush can win a Super Bowl.
