This is the guy you want to watch if you like a back who makes contact. The video shows all 41 plays not just 5-6 of his best ones. Is it my imagine or does kevin smith run a lot like eddie george?

You know what we should do gloat? Take a RB with 500 college carries and then do a video of his 5 longest runs. That will really provide a synopsis of that player's ability. That's how you do your analysis based on a handful of plays right?

 

you do realize that guy is going to have close to 1400 carries coming out of college.
he's got good vision a little burst and is good at breaking tackles... and actually doesn't have a fumble credited to him... he's solid.
his speed is the only question mark.... but why get off topic here. this is a thread about CHRIS JOHNSON not kevin smith.

i think with some of those cutback lanes CJ would have been gone long before he needed 41 carries

I put up the kevin smith video to draw out silly comments like that. He ran for over 300 yards in that game! Are you daring to tell me CJ would have run for more? Smith had 1000 more yards rushing than CJ this year. :sad2:

 

and CJ averaged more per carry for the season.
almost a half a yard more per carry
yes with 41 carries CJ would have had more yards... whether you think thats daring or not it's pretty much the truth.
smith had almost 200 more carries that CJ last season... he should have 1000 yrds more.

Notice how CJ was used at the beginning -vs- late in the season. After the UNC game he told Holtz he wanted the ball as much as possible. He ran KO's back all season never once failing to be on the field for one. He contributed in many ways but one that sticks out the most is KO field position.

By the way ... 24k (Kevin Smith) is a great back and tuff as nails. He pretty much carried UCF last season. He was not used coming out of backfield but on rare occassion.

Kevin is a work horse and banger of the 1st magnitude, whereas, CJ uses his speed and lateral quickness. Both types of backs have their places in the scheme of things.

CJ game high rushing stats came against Memphis 20 carries for 301 yds and 4 TD's. His personal best for total carries was versus Boise State 28 carries 238 yards 1 TD.
