how come people don't realise that for every example of a guy who puts up great college numbers and doesn't make it in the nfl, that there are just as many who don't put up great college numbers that do make it in the nfl?? For every positive argument there is an equal negative argument?? For every Tim Couch there is a Tom Brady?? For every Ron Dayne there is a Willie Parker. For every Reggie Bush there is a Chris Johnson?? So the guy looks good without pads, is that a reason to be optimistic?? Possibly, it is definately better than having him look bad without pads!! Who cares about history, or what brian brohm did in college?? Chris Johnson(rb ecu) is going to be the first Chris Johnson(rb ecu) to ever play in the NFL, and I have a sneaking suspicion that he might be the best Chris Johnson(rb ecu) to EVER play in the NFL.

    I'm sure he'll find a stat for this or a comparison ......

We here at ECU like Earnest Byner too! :wink2:

It will be great to watch CJ develop under his guidance. He has a special spot for all to see at ECU Murphy Center Strenght and Conditioning Center.

I'm sure Mr T will have some EB stats to post.

I already elaborated why. Because we only returned 52 kicks all damn year. I'm more concerned about the 300 carries a real RB gives us.

What is the difference between pacman and carr? 2 yards a return. Carr has averaged 24 yards a return vs pacman's 26. 2X 52=104 yards over 16 games, =6.5 yards a game and no additional first downs almost meaningless.

Are you already putting CJ in pacman's class a a returner? CJ's career college return average was 23.8!

I don't understand that? That is 90% why i'm complaining about the pick. We used the 24th pick in the entire damn nfl draft on a special teams guy?

Read my previous post on kick returns. We paid good money on carr as a rfa and he is a fine return man. We didn't need another.........

Look, he's a RB/WR who also returns kicks. Don't get hung up on the kicks. That is not the reason we got him. He's the perfect compliment to LenWhale. He also gives Dinger tons of flexibilty. He may not ever be a workhorse, but LenWhale is. And he could be.

He's a poor man's Reggie Bush. Just imagine a little less talented Bush playing with Lendale White and VY.

I'd say differently talented. Bust just runs by people or makes them miss. CJ does not do that as well, but he has much better vision and he can break a few tackles. Plus, he may be a little faster. Dinger will get a lot out of him.

Also CJ may be a better reciever and understands the playbook better(smarter).

I can't wait for the season. Dinger is going to have us running up the score.

Yikes! Bush has been ineffective running the football. Despite playing in a wide open offense bush has only averaged 3.7 yards per carry in his career and is no more likely to break a 20 yard+ run than lendale.

As far as being smart CJ got a 10 the first time he took the wonderlic. after some coaching he got a 29 so maybe he is a quick study.
