Hoge knows as much about football as Clay Aiken does, what a douche bag.

It's not venom it's just his opinion on why Young wont be good. He said it on draft day and 3 years later turns out he's right.

Well, I hope he is not right.

But I agree with ya, he took some heat for his original comments about VY and now he seems to be gloating a bit.

It just makes him more of an *** in my eyes.

Hoge has venom for VY, there is no doubt about that.

But, in all seriousness, in his 3rd year, if VY can't pass a written quiz on defensive coverage and schemes, and how to respond to them, then VY will be further embarrassed when he returns to the game.

Forget the mechanics of the throw, if he really isn't getting the mental aspect, the "book learning," then he needs to just retire now.

And frankly, if he did grasp the mental aspects, then I doubt people would be excusing him by claiming he needs to spend some time with the clipboard in his hands, or in the coach's booth.

What has Hoge said about Young that isn't true?

He doesn't have to tell a lie about VY to have displayed obvious dislike of him.
Hell, he comes right out and says he doesn't like him, and that he is going to talk trash about him.

So, it is foolish for anyone to defend the idea that Hoge is being impartial, or fair to VY.

The truth we do not know.
    And that is the issue.

If VY really does not have the mental capacity to run an NFL offense, then Hoge is right. But do we know that? What is a reasonable test for that question?

I'd have to say giving him more than less than two seasons of playing time at the position to prove himself in the league.

He played eight games as a rookie, the full season after that (including a playoff game), along with one game this season.

So, while this is his third season in the league, he's basically played two dozen (or so) meaningful games in the league.

There was a time when quarterbacks were still sitting on the bench and waiting for their chance at that point of their career.

So, to those who are writing VY off. Don't. There's still a lot of game in him that we've yet to see.
