KVB may be just as valuable as Albert?

I think KVB motivates the rest of the D line to play hard. Without him, all that pressure to keep the motor goes away. And the rest of the D line doesn't play as hard.

Their entire team only had 94 yards rushing. I'd say we did a pretty good job.

I shouldn't have used the phrase "running all over us" but 94 yards is still quite a bit considering where their rushing attack stands to our defense...and the fact that Addai was out. Many of those rushing yards put them in 3rd or 4th and short situations. Thankfully though we were able to hold them when we needed to and of course force a couple turnovers. We dodge two huge bullets with Crumpler's fumble and a pass from KC. Otherwise, this game would have probably been much closer and "down to the wire".

I was very concerned we'd get little to no sacks without KVB in the game, and it proved true. All the more impressive that we won in spite of that. KVB can't return too soon for the Titans, but I'm worried he'll miss the GB game as well. I was thinking 6 weeks until he's back to near 100% (running at full strength with a twinge of soreness left), and it's been 4 games, a little more than 3 weeks. I can see him being out for the next two, and returning for Jacksonville. But I really hope he can go this week without risk of further injury, and actually make a difference. Might be a lot to ask. That's my big concern about the Green Bay game.

KVB was missed and there is a significant drop-off when Williams Haynes was in the game. Haynesworth looked like he wasn't getting any penetration much of the game. I thought Tony Brown had a much better game.

Maybe it was just me but it seemed like the colts got most of their rushing yards by running to the edges. Haynesworth still put pressure on Manning he almost had two sacks had he been a second earlier with the hit. I think KVB has a huge part in being able to close the gap to his side and force the runs back to the inside.

Yea, the edges were vulnerable for 2 reasons, I think. 1) KVB is great at applying pressure without losing containment - his presence was missed there. 2) It was in our gameplan. Like Carpy said - we weren't going to let them burn us deep, so the secondary wasn't going to provide much run support at all. Just like the Colts were determined to shut down our run with an extra man, we were determined to shut down their passing game. So both teams were forced to play their weakness, and the difference was our weakness was stronger than their weakness.

I'm also convinced there is a huge conditioning factor that is totally overlooked in discussing matchups. Every week our lines seem to take over in the 4th Q, and it looks to me like they are just better conditioned for a 60 minute game than most guys on the field. The Colts came out with a ton of energy - made us look flat. That was gone in the 4th Q when they needed it, and even though our linemen were sucking air they took control when it mattered. That's a great sign for our chances in January.
