SUMMARY: As the AFC South Champion Tennessee Titans prepare to take on the Wild Card Baltimore Ravens in an AFC Divisional Playoff game this Saturday, most fans will have a flashback to 2001. In that 2000 season, the Wild Card Ravens came to town to take on the AFC South Champion and #1 seed Titans and left a 24-10 winner and on the way to their franchise's only Super Bowl Championship. Though few players remain from that game, much of what was then remains now. Both teams are built around outstanding defenses and a strong running game. Both teams have QBs who are usually not asked to carry the offense but take care of the football. Both teams play the same high-intensity, smash-mouth style of football which made both teams successful eight years ago.

Though the scenario is almost identical from that game, Titans fans no doubt expect a different outcome while Ravens fans hope it is deja vu all over again.

I love it how we are the #1 seed, pound the Steelers (who have beat the ravens twice this season), Ravens have rookie coach, QB, and had there bye week in week 3 or so. We have 1st round bye, and home field advantage, not to forget we beat them head to head, etc etc etc and etc....... so riddle me this.. why again are we the underdogs?????

i don't think either team scores 20 unless one scores a garbage td on defense late(like against pittsburgh)

Just the fate of a smaller market team. Dallas gets more coverage, even now it seems, than we do. :irked:

This is exactly how it should be too. Let us be the surprise that no one could buy into. Personally, I trust the opinions of myself and a few of you all over most of the commentators when it comes to Titans football. They don't know Dave Ball, Jason Jones, and Jacob Ford. They aren't paying attention to the position battle between Vickerson and Mookie. They don't appreciate how Fuller and Carr have stepped up in the absence of King, who was playing damn well at nickel back until he was injured. They don't know about sh*t that didn't occur last week. Let them be skeptical, let them compare us to the Spurs. Thats what we are: a technically sound unit that is greater then the sum of its parts and wins with teamwork and sound, fundamental football. I'll take it. Go Titans

We had enough "pub" on Pacman over the last two years.

The only pub I'm looking for is seeing those commercials over and over about how I can order "Titans Super Bowl Champions" gear with a subscription to SI.

Good breakdown of the game Jeff. I'm surprised you still didn't pick the Ravens to win, even though the Titans have the edge in most of the positions. Everyone else seems to be doing that.

How many rookie QB's have made it to the AFC or NFC Championship game?
