And if Haynesworth stays and the defense struggles?

That's too easy, then, Schwartz was the man.

And if it is exactly the same as last season?

    My bad about williams.

I don't want mcginnis. He has never coached a good defense.

I'm not going to say that schwartz did a bad job the last 2 years that would be dumb based on how they played but i would prefer a coach willing to take a chance and even against a rookie QB schwartz couldn't do it. With williams we attacked kurt warner, peyton manning and mark brunell in the 99 playoffs. Schwartz played it safe against the ravens and we still gave up 2 big plays.

I want a DC who is willing to take a chance to win a game.

The D was in no way responsible for the loss to Baltimore. That was a brilliant performance. The offense deserves the "credit" for that loss, and I think that has been documented and well agreed upon.

To me that makes your point moot. By not taking chances in that game, Schwartz gave the team a great chance to win and the O fumbled it away.

I'm more of a watcher not a poster here. But I'll go on record as not having a good feeling about Schwartz' departure. I hope he does well...and I hope the transition to our next D coordinator is smooth and doesn't set us back a couple years.

Seriously, as long as Fisher gets past the accounting department in his search for a new DC this is addition by subtraction as stated earlier. More aggressive by default as stated earlier. This does not make up for the PO loss, but it is better than havin JS signed to an extension.

Seriously II, I think JS will be a good HC. His moneyball bean counting ways will be much better utilized as HC

I wish him nothing but the best, except once every four years of course.

And I hope Fisher stays in house and gives CC a shot at DC. I think he will be aggressive if nothing else. And show FA the $$$$s

If the defense sucks and Haynesworth isn't there I will wonder why our defense couldn't look like it did against the Steelers.

If there's any lions fan reading this ignore these haters. You don't turn a defense from worst to first in one season by being an idiot. They just don't like some of the things Schwartz did years ago, I guess they expect him to make stars out of losers like Lamont Thompson, Reynaldo Hill and Peter Sirmon. Oh and they don't like that he doesn't blitz as if blitzing equals an automatically great defense. You got a great coordinator, just hopefully he can be an equally good coach.
