Step 2: Compile a list of NFL QB's that have similar skills as VY.

Perform an unbiased review of what you have just put together, and draw your own conclusions.

would everyone give the vince young junk so much attention if he wasn't so great in college or if he wasn't drafted in the first round? probably not. i think alot of people look too much at what he did in college and the big commercial image he had and are just hanging on to what he was and not what he is now. congrats vince young, you were great in college and you have your own shoes, madden cover, and a huge fan base of so called titans fans and the owner of the team loves you.

 

I think we saw the best season KC can give the Titans and that being said I think it's VY time. We can trade him now for a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick, let him sit behind a QB who won't be on the team much longer, or give him another chance and see what he can do. If he does well then it's a good move if he plays bad then he sits on the bench or gets traded.

Still, I'm sure the Cardinals are glad their guy was getting drunk with some college chicks instead of getting drunk with a bunch of topless sweaty dudes.

 

Collins led us to 13-3, AFC South Champs, and a #1 playoff seed. I'm not a Vince hater by any means, but why would you yank the starting QB, leader on the team that led us to that type of season and gamble with Vince?

As long as Collins is playing good, managing the game well, and not committing nearly as many turnovers like he did so well last season, then keep him in.

Now, when Collins starts sucking it up on the field, if he does, then is the time to put Vince in. Vince need the practice and needs the mentor in Kerry Collins.

Unfortunatley, it wasn't an answer to the question that I posed.

I already have my own conclusions, so no need for me to draw up a list. It is those like you who dislike VY as a player and who believe that he should be thrown away with the mornings trash, whos conclusion I am interested in, hence the reason why I asked the question to those of you who feel that we should get rid of him.


I will ask it again,

On the NORM, how long does it take a Starting QB to grasp a NFL offense and become effective within it?

I can tell you that most QB's don't get worse as the years go on.... I dont think there's an exact gauge on how long it takes a QB to grasp NFL offenses. I would think two full seasons to start showing significant signs of improvements isn't out of the question and by the third season they should have it. Some guys get it faster than others. Vince isn't even close. I highly doubt that he'll ever be our outright starter again barring an injury. I don't have anything against VY personally, I just think he has a bad attitude, crappy mechanics, and makes terrible decdisions.
