Been a Luv Ya Blue fan since I was born. We had season tickets until I moved to the Bay Area in 1995.

Treadhead how could you forget Curtis Duncan? He probably had the best hands out of the bunch.

I firmly believe we had the best collection of talent on those early 90's teams, yet had no heart. If we had a Mcnair or Ray Lewis type of personality on those teams we would have had at least two Lombardi trophies by now and more than likely the Texans would be the "Los Angeles Plastic Surgeons" or whatever they would have named them.

Long time Bengals fan who always hated The Oilers by default. They were third behind Pittsburgh and Cleveland in that regard.
The Titans first game was at home against Cincinnati and I was really impressed with the new team after they shut down The Bungs. I really liked the stadium, team colors, and I already loved Tennessee so I followed them closely for the rest of the season and it was that post-season that sealed the deal. Of course moving to Nashville right after didn't hurt..

Actually, I didn't forget him. I just didn't want my post to get too long-winded. Those teams from the late 80's/early 90's were loaded. Unfortunately, there's a similarity between those teams and the Titans of today. The Oilers of then and the Titans of now are rich on talent and youth but woefully underachieving. It was always so frustrating to see the Oilers completely dominate one team and then the following week play down to the level of a weak team. Everyone who has become a fan of the franchise post-Oiler days is finding out what Oiler fans became numb to - the franchise has a terrible tendency to play at the level of the competition. I know it's vogue to claim it's "Fisherball". However, since I became a fan only the '78-'79 Oilers consistently overachieved on the field. Ever since then it's been a continual procession of promising seasons ending in heartbreaking lackluster performances. Sad but true....

We have had some incredible talent over the years on both sides of the ball. I'd need another post to write all the names. I'd say that an All-time Oilers/Titans team would match up evenly with any other franchise's team of the same venue. Now if the team could just start adding a few Super Bowl victories to the resume.

My feeling is that the McNair, VY, Collins, and Pastorini Titans all overachieved. I never expected a title, I hoped for one.

But I do agree that the Moon Oilers underachieved what they shoul have done. I fully expected for about 10 years we were the best team and would win the superbowl, because of Warren Moon alone. The team should have won the title. Never did. Say La vi.

But next year. We get it done.

Got to agree with Treadhead - though I remember thinking in 99 that with the Titans post-season run, the Music City Miracle and everything, that I thought we'd finally buried that under-achieving tag... it's now back!
I remember the first game they ever showed on TV over here, when they started covering American Football in 84 was Moon's first game - and the Oilers got hammered by the Raiders, call me whatever name you like, but with my Dad working in Texas at the time, that was it - I was hooked
best memories - Beating the Bengals to get in the Playoffs in 87, Moon getting something like 999 yards against Kansas away one time, beating San Fran at Candlestick to finish the regular season with 11 games in a row
yet everytime we ****ed it up
sort of had that feeling this time round against Baltimore - but I got to say those Oilers teams of the early 90s were better than this Titans one.. I seriously didn't expect this Titans team to get to a position where they should have won the Superbowl.. still gutted about the playoffs
