Does anyone know the details on Bulluck's last (current) contract? How much have the Titans already paid him?

From a recent Jim Wyatt story about Keith:

"Headed into his 10th NFL season, Bulluck’s scheduled to earn $5.5 million in base salary in 2009. He also received a $1 million roster bonus in March. Bulluck's cap number is $7.858, which puts him in the top 5 highest-paid linebackers in the NFL."

I think he'll end up re-signing with the Titans for less than he's currently making. There's not a huge demand for linebackers over the age of 30 in this league, just ask Ray Lewis.

If we cut a certain backup next season we will have a lot more $$ to bring back Bollokz and KVB

I think he'll be instantly re-signed. Its a no brainer. He's paid his dues, we owe it to ourselves and to our defensive captain to make sure he retires a Titan. Just my opinion.

They'll sign him instantly if Keith agrees to an extension at an obvious bargain to the Titans. Otherwise, expect Bullock to test the waters to see what his market value is. Hopefully, in the end he'll still be a Titan for a few more years.
But the off season competition between clubs and players over contracts is all business, and the Titans have to be good at that part of it in order to be winners during the playing season. It just hurts sometimes when they have to play hardball with players we have come to love.

NO WAY that we prioritize sentimentality over spending rationally, a box of tissues is inexpensive, giving Bulluck a contract like Suggs' is not.

Keith Bulluck is the Titans. They can't possibly let that man go elsewhere. I thought McNair was a Titan down to the cells in his blood but with Bulluck we know he 'is' Tennessee. Our defense is built around him. He could be replaced, but why??? Never gets injured, never stops fighting, and should never leave the Titans.

I think that number is wrong. According to titanscentral salary cap page bulluck has a salary of $5.50M, a roster bonus coming of $1M and his prorated SB is $2.5M which adds up to $9M cap hit.

Bulluck got a $12.5M bonus so the $2.5M pro rate is accurate.

There will be around $50M in cap room next year so we can keep him if the price is reasonable.
