I don't think Baltimore has any intention of retiring number nine after only 2 years played here and there hasn't been any talk of it by the organization or the papers, if that makes anyone feel better.

The entire conversation of "that would piss me off, he's ours not yours" seems extremely immature in light of the man's death. This isn't a contest to see who can deservedly claim Steve. The NFL as a whole is grieving and all that matters is serving justice and supporting his family and specifically his children.

If you grew up watching him as a member of your favorite team and he was basically your idol, how would you feel if your hated rivals retired his number or something else extreme?

No Titans fan wants to see his number retired with the Ravens. It's as simple as that. It wouldn't be right for the Ravens to show gratification for a guy who they played against for so many years, and a guy who only played with them for basically one season.

You have to move on, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with this discussion.

The idea that the ravens would retire #9 is a non-issue. It won't happen.

I totally agree with retireing the number, and I also agree with the bronze statue of Steve symbolizing his role in cementing the Titans organization in Tennessee and creating a huge fan base that would follow the organization for years to come.

This year in the center of the flamming ball should be a huge #9 right on our 50 yard line

I totally agree... eddie, frank and steve were the heart of the team - but as much as I love all those guys you can't just retire numbers of great players. Honor them somehow, but to retire a number they need to have left an indelible mark on the organization and the city. In my mind, Steve did that... I'd love to see #9 retired and I would have said that on July 3rd.
