I've been looking for a McNair fathead (well, McNair in a Titans uniform) and McNair jersey. Thinking about buying a custom jersey from NFL.com (Oiler throwback with McNair on the back)

There is absolutely no chance that every player (or any players, for that matter) will wear #9 jerseys during the game. The league would never allow that.

Some or all of the players could possibly wear #9 jerseys during the warm-ups or the pre-game introduction, but I doubt it.

It's far more likely that the team will choose to go with a jersey patch or a helmet sticker, much like the Raiders did last year following Gene Upshaw's death. I expect the Titans will wear a black patch that simply says "9" or perhaps "SM."

We could do like the Redskins did, and run our first play with only ten in the lineup.

Of course, it doesn't work that well with the QB missing. Mawae hikes the ball into space, it bounces and then Johnson picks it up and runs straight into the line?

they ran the first play of their first defensive series with only 10 men?

    Intentionally?

    that's retarded.

I don't know how we as fans should honor McNair this up coming season, but the entire league should absolutely at least wear a No. 9 decal somewhere on all uniforms/helmets much like the Redskins/NFL did with Sean Taylor's passing. Tennessee should have the No. 9 plastered all through out LP Field, the Titans should also wear No. 9 as a patch on player uniforms, warm-up shirts and coaching staff jackets, as well as unveiling a banner bearing his name and number. The impact McNair's presents had was far more influential than any recently killed player of the NFL including Sean Taylor. I also cant help but realize how similar Taylor's death was to McNair's. Both guys were murdered in their homes by emotionally unstable people; suspected gunman Eric Rivera who was 17 at the time, and Sahel Kazemi a dumb 20 year old b;tch. These guys were both tough as nails, and huge parts of their teams success during their tenure. Ring of Fame for the both of them, and many saddened fans left wondering why... Also don't forget how hot the Redskins wound up being following Taylor's death. I'm hoping the Titans can use this tragedy as fuel to go through the playoffs.

im sure they will wear the #9 sticker on their helmet and/or jersey, but every player wearing the same numbered jersey? no way . . .

i liked when the redskins only played 10 men for their first defensive stand to honor the fallen sean taylor.

No it's not. It's the same principle as the missing man formation that miltary pilots do when one of their comrades falls.

Now if they did it the whole game (or even more than one play), then it would be retarded.

allow me to help you realize the dissimilarity between mcnair and taylor's deaths: mcnair was murdered in cold blood by a jealous girlfriend. taylor bled to death after being shot in the leg during a botched robbery. yes, they were both killed, but under totally different circumstances.

I do agree that mcnair was more influential, though, in the long term. but it's still a different situation than taylor, as mcnair hasn't been on our roster since 2005.
