It will be at no ones surprise when we see Chris Johnson start the 2009 season at running back spelled by LenDale White. The real question will be; what's to happen with Javon Ringer, Quinton Ganther, Rafael Little, Chris Henry, R. Ferguson II, & Casey Cramer? What else we know is that Tennessee wants to utilize Chris Johnson's speed by putting him out wide as a potential receiver, likely placing LenDale in the back field. The Full back spot is locked up by the Marine Ahmard Hall.

With LenDale down to 229 lbs will he lose his punch? Or does it make him the player who could have had 1,000 yards last season? At near 260 lbs in late 2008 LenDale wasn't able to burst threw many holes. In fact the man needed a tunnel if he were to go more than six yards on any given run. I like the weight loss, I think it makes him the threat he was back when him and Reggie Bush were destroying the competition at USC.

We saw the Titans strike gold with the 24th overall pick in the 2008 draft. We can relax knowing Chris Johnson will show up and make plays. So long as the Ravens aren't around to bend him backwards.

As for the other six backs, more like four if you ask anyone. Whats in store for them? I believe Tennessee drafted Javon Ringer for a reason. Knowing Chris Henry's potential is nothing more than just that, they took up an insurance policy with a guy they believe in. Meaning Henry is likely done as a Tennessee Titan.
Then we have Rafael Little who is here simply because he was a left over in 2008's draft, and wisely scooped up by Jeff Fisher. So we will likely see him on special teams if anything for the 2009 regular season.
Quinton Ganther & Casey Cramer both played in 08 and have time as Titans, but not much more than that. I can't predict their futures only they can, but with almost nothing happening in 08 who needs them drawing a game check in 09.

That's pretty much it in terms of figuring out the 3rd running back slot. I hear Fisher talk about the good in Ringer and Little so lets hope he's right as one of them secures the last spot on the depth chart.
REMEMBER: We are yet to see anything on the field. Preseason can change a lot. C.J. wants 1,500 rushing yards with 15 TDs and I'm expecting LenDale to have near 1,000 yards himself with similar TD numbers to last year.

Yea i feel the ones who will be kept at Johnson and Lendale, obviously, Ringer and probably Ganther, hes big and can play either RB or FB.......Little will probably be on the practice squad and Henry is gone.....freakish athlete but not NFL caliber talent

I agree with GMITTS . . . i think CJ will go off this year and be quite successful. not sure about the 14 TD's, but i could see 10-12. lendale will still get a good amount of red zone touches.

and yeah i think ringer is a nice addition, and get his 3-5 touches a game. maybe a couple TD's for the season. I think he has potential down the road.

Yeah. That article said they want the 3rd RB to be a hybrid of CJ & LenDale, which to me sounds like either Ringer or Little. Training camp just won't get here fast enough. :irked:

fwiw, Kuharsky called out Ringer a bit on the radio saying he's been dropping alot of balls in the practices - almost saying it like Ringer just can't catch. At same time he said Little not really standing out either though. My take was that neither was too impressive yet.
