I don't disagree with any of that. Probably the first and only time I'll say that about Trent Dilfer.

No man Crush On Brady he has the hardware to prove what he is all about. And On Eli I guess we would put Trent Dilfer on the Super star range he also was carried by his team. Eli is far from a Super Star.

Very well thought out article. Trent Dilfer is a better analyst than he was QB, imo.

Peyton is better then Brady, fellas. He's a damn offensive coordinator with a rocket arm and laser precision. Tom Brady is lucky enough to play on the best team of this decade, in what is arguably the best system ever. Lets not forget that Matt Cassell started for the first time since high school last year and had 3 consecutive 400+ yard games. Is he an elite QB? No, he's just a good QB in a great system.

Brady is great, dont get me wrong. But if you put Brady on a team like the Raiders then he would fall far, whereas I think Peyton could make something happen. Peyton has never had a defense, Brady has always had a defense. You can't put the amount of Superbowl wins and losses on just one player, like people so often like to do.

As for Eli, he's in the category he should be in. He was the SB MVP, and made the plays that won the games on offense. He is better then average and I'd take him over 75% of the QB's in the league, making him a star, not a superstar.

    Ummm...

    2008: #11 defense... #7 scoring defense
    2007: #3 defense... #1 scoring defense
    2005: #11 defense... #2 scoring defense

I'd say that's pretty good. I know there were some years where he had horrible defenses on his team, but the past few years that has not been the case.

All the qb's he has grouped with vince are guys who are 2 to 4 years older than vince also. These guys have had more years to prove themselves then vince has.

Brady would be great whatever team he'd be on.

He did it with no running game about every year he won a super bowl. Think about the RBs he's had, (Antwaan Smith) (Maroney) (Dillon long after his prime) They would have been the 1 or 2 seed last year if he were in.

I hate the patriots, but Brady is one of the best ever. He just recently got his good receivers. He's never had an outstanding group before that, while Manning has had Harrison, Wayne, and Clark for much of his career. I'll tell you this much, if Brady were on the Colts, he'd have more than one ring, and probably more than he has now.

Manning has bad stretches, ala most of last year, until he resurrected, beat the almighty Jaguars and earned himself another MVP.

I am adamantly opposed to the thought that the team made Brady. It's the other way around. The league suffered without him last year. To the point that Kerry Collins made the probowl.

Being great is winning in big situations, Manning's done it once. Brady's done it about every time, except for that same game.

Manning can't get it done, especially against the Chargers, and that's what makes him a step below in my book.

Anyway, I hope the Patriots suck this year.

Do you think Vince Young could pilot the Patriot offense with the same stats/success?

It's not a matter of being in a good offense or whatever, you still have to be able to throw the ball.
    Brady has 3 Superbowls.
Manning has 1, and it was the defense that got them the Superbowl.
