Matt Jones?

First of all Matt Jones plays way slower than his 40 time which is why making these comparisons are silly. I guess Boldin can't play at all because he ran a 4.7. Actually Washington by these standards is terrible as well because he ran a 4.6.

What matters is having the whole package. Being able to get open and catch the ball. Although Jones stats aren't horrible IMO the guy is a poster child for why you shouldn't overestimate the size and speed aspect. Based on the combine numbers alone he should be a HOF player and Jerry Rice is crap.

My point is I think Cook is a much more natural reciever. The problem is Cook is a rookie. Thus depending on Cook to provide depth at WR doesn't make sense although he may get some reps out there. Edison is also a rookie. So is Britt. Maybe Jones can fill a void while those guys get more acclimated to the NFL.

Jones is fairly low risk because he won't cost a bunch of money and we are bringing him to to provide depth. If he came in last year he would be a starter and the consequences of him getting suspended would be devastating.

 

I'm really anxious to see who returns punts tonight.. probably between Jones and Hawkins for the last wr spot ...but just a guess..

I think this is different than Paman. Jones had a substance abuse problem. He was never involved in a shooting and didn't kill dogs. He had a problem, hopefully got the help he needed, and is ready to move on.

 

Pacman is the only innocent one out of those three...

-Matt Jones is a lumbering workout wonder who has never been near as fast as his combine time suggests.
-He's soft over the middle and shirks from taking a hit.
-He is king of the attempt and fail at the one handed grab.
-He leaves the huddle telegraphing if he's in the play or not.
-He gives up on plays before they are over.
-For a huge tall guy, he gets really small on the fade route.


All in all, I hope you guys get him and put him in the rotation.

 

Yeah...Jones was so bad that he was easily Jags best reciever last year.

 

Fisher just likes watching guys workout... There's definitely a quote above referencing to us "monitoring the Jones situation."

So many jokes, if only I had some high schoolers to appreciate them!
