I agree that these are moot arguments. A better argument is we agree our d sucks but the way to help cure that is to limit their exposure. The way to do that is to have sustained drives. I think we can all agree that with Kerry at the helm so far we have not been able to accomplish that. Let's put Vince in and see if he can. That way all the invalid arguments stop because both have had a chance to prove themselves with the same unit.

    Answer me this...

If he was a quitter, why is he still out there practicing and working with the team? If he "quit" on the team, why doesn't he just pull a Ricky Williams and leave?

Personally, I think all this 'quit' talk is exaggerating that sideline incident.

So now you're pulling a Gloat and arguing based on technicalities. Good for you.

Your point the whole time was that the Titans were 10-6 in 2007? Thanks for the enlightenment I guess...way to add to thread.

Obviously, nothing will ever be proven until someone comes and says it to the media. In my opinion, too many things happened that day for it to be absolutely nothing.

But, like I said, everyone can believe whatever they want on the matter. They'll probably never be proven right or wrong.

Ubiq, I'm a Vince Young fan and I agree with most of your points about him. I know that at the start of 2008, I was in the boat saying something needs to be done at QB. I'm pretty sure anyone that says otherwise is high. Vince was inaccurate and threw way too many unnecessary picks.

He did have one thing I haven't seen from KC though, he improved under pressure and managed to get a lot of things done even if it wasn't in the prettiest manner. Whether it was scrambles for 1st downs, or actually making an accurate throw in a clutch situation, he often found ways to win games that came down to the end.

I'm now in the same boat with KC, I was all for him starting this year as we did well last year and he had time to build with the offense and promised not to be a "game manager" anymore. After going 0-4, where 3 of those games were within a solid drive in the 4 quarter, I have lost faith in KC's promises of not being a game manager. I don't feel like he has what it takes to win games for us, so like I did with Vince, I want change.

Besides, we have so much money invested in Vince and KC's career is ending. Lets find out if VY has matured and can be the next McNair or lets start looking for someone who can. Having a solid defense (I'm sure they'll eventually figure it out again) + CJ is a recipe for a good team no matter how you look at it. My biggest worry is that the vets will start retiring and we'll be left with a great RB and nothing else similar to the rams.

I used to be a huge fan of Vince, but I think was in denial for the most part. I overlooked 2007 and blamed that on him being young and learning. My last straw was the Jacksonville game, as I am one of the ones who believe that he didn't want to go back in the game. Where there is smoke, there is fire if you ask me.

With that being said, if this team is still floundering 3-4 weeks down the road (looks like they will be), I'm all for benching Kerry and playing Vince. We need to evaluate what we have, which in my opinion isn't much. My whole problem with this situation are the fans that come to these boards and call into the radio shows out of nowhere, and claim to have all the answers in Vince Young. They ignore the simple fact that, in the short term, Kerry Collins gives this team the best shot to win. Neither one of our QBs have any answers, neither one of them are going to light up a scoreboard and take this team to the promise land, but I wholeheartedly believe that Kerry is the better of the two. Ignoring the facts and stats doesn't make things true for the VY crowd.

Let Vince play when this team is down and completely out of it. Not now, not yet. Because when he does take over and the bonehead interceptions start to come, and they will come, Nashville will go into complete melt-down. For the sake of the Titans' future, I hope I'm wrong and Vince comes in and lights the world on fire.

Now, I have to leave this thread because it's getting me in trouble with the superiors.

Haha, yeah I pretty much agree with you on every point. I'm still hopeful for a 10-6 finish with a playoff spot.

    General comment:

The excessive enthusiasm, exclamation points, attacks, cheerleading of Vince and hate of Collins reallly makes it seem like you are a 15-22 year old girl from Texas with a crush on VY....

Unless that is true, you might want to consider how you're posts come off.

I have no problem with arguments of why VY should play or Collins should play. But you're posts are borderline ridiculous with full-on blinders on.

Personally I think VY should play now and probably will start after the bye...

This thread is a failure and an insult to the board as a whole. Why?

    1. Personal insults and attacks
    2. Lazy argument- you can rarely make a well thought out point in two sentences
    3. Massive overuse of exclamation points and grammatical failure as a whole

Props to new poster Pettso for jumping in with a large enough contribution to make his point understood. (and to Ubiq for responding with a substantial enough post)

Beyond that, I don't understand why people bother having this argument when they can't construct an argument. Threatening, mocking, and excessively repeating yourself are not ways to help others see and understand your views. Take some time and convince someone, don't just call each other names and state the same thing over and over again!

I go back and forth on my feelings about what should be done. That should mean that I am more easily swayed when reading others' opinions on here. Instead, most of the time I'm convinced that I shouldn't take a particular side because the people defending it are 1) making such terrible arguments, and 2) making them so emphatically that they must be related to Kerry or Vince.

    Ugh! I'm out.
