There comes a time in the career with all those who deal with people that eventually the person can no longer relate to those he teaches, works with. All of us live in the past and it always defines our present. For most of us, the older we get, the more the past defines. It's clearly seen in Dungy, Cowher, the Tuna, and others. They aren't that old that they can't coach. It's just that all of a sudden, they found nothing was working for whatever reason and they knew it wasn't going to get better any time soon. I think that is what is happening to Fisher and even rebuilding will not help that much. The younger the players and the older the coach, the greater the divide. There are always exception, of course, like Joe Pa, but eventually, times run out.

I think Fisher is rapidly approaching that point. He's been a coach for a long time, with the same organization. Things just might be getting a little stale. jmo

The jury's out on this one. Most people are pissed by the results of this years play, but I wouldn't fire Fisher yet. This team shouldn't be 0-5, no way and we haven't played like an 0-5 team either. These losses are a matter of balls not bouncing our way, the way they did last year. Next year if were still this bad we should absolutely throw him away. I wouldn't chase Dungy thou, he's walked away happy it seems. And Chucky whoa now, we have a Chuck and he sucks. I'm more for firing Mike Heimerdinger than anyone else. At least Cecil calling bad calls is from not knowing any better yet. If I'm giving Fisher an extra year then I'm giving Cecil one too. After that if were still making these threads then call God for help.

Fair weather fans? FU. And it is more than a coincidence that we've run the same boring and predictable plays under both Dinger and Chow. We got rid of Chow to bring in someone who was supposed to take our offense to the next level. Yet Dinger comes in and runs the same ole lame ole. I refuse to believe that both of these OCs who've had great success are that sorry.

Chow ran one of the best offenses in college ball (albeit college ball) and Dinger was doing some good things in Denver. Yet they came here and practically died. Under Chow we flat out sucked. Run, Run, Pass then Punt. Dinger, Run, Run, Pass then Punt.

I gotta believe this is Jeff's stubborn philosophy that he feels works but in reality it doesn't. I have supported this team and this coach through good times and bad, and I am now ready to see Fisher go.

Deuce Wayne's sig is a perfect piece and perfect summary of Jeff's career with us. Good riddance Jeff.

Jeff isn't a good coach for football reasons, but for so many other factors. He understands personalities and the psychological aspect of the game, he manages players well, he manages a team well, he but NO more managing damn it!!! Evolve Jeff!

Maybe fair weather was a bit harsh....SHORT memory is more like it. This is a team that went 13-3 with the best record in the NFL last season and if not for a couple bad breaks would have had a great chance at the title last year. Everyone: from the fans, the team, to the coaches, to the front office, to Bud Adams...I guarantee are frustrated at the start of this season after coming off such a great one last year. However, one thing I can tell you, firing one of the best coaches in the game will most likely set the team back instead of fixing the current problems.

Perhaps some of us have a long memory and recall that the only thing saving Fisher from another one and done in 99 was the MCM. Perhaps we're just sick of the same old rhetoric, with little or no real results. Perhaps we're sick of seemingly talented players coming in and then leaving with that promise of talent unfulfilled. Perhaps the old ball coach has lost the ability to reach these young men. Perhaps it really is just time for a change. Just sayin'... perhaps :))

Great post. Fisher has had the benefit of an owner who is more loyal than an NFL owner should these days. This isn't your mom and pop's Oilers we're talking about. This is 21st century football and somethings gotta give. I have always stood up for Fisher when my Cowboy friends have called him the most overrate coach in football only to have him prove them right. This guy is so arrogant that he is willing to put his ego before the success of the team. He doesn't wanna eat crow and admit that he was wrong about everything.

The loss of Albert, the demotion of Vince in favor of KFC, the return man situation, the same ole lame ole run run pass punt routine. Hit the road Jeff.

Fair weather Fans? Some of you guys amaze me. I have read the post's on this topic and some of you fans make me want to puke. To have a good team there has to be consistancy?? Consistent of what? Making the playoffs for two years in a row then lay stinker the next year, then make the playoffs two years in a row then choke again? In the titans history we have never made the playoffs for more than 2 years in a row. Im also getting tired of reading these posts of you forget we had a 13-3 choke season "Again". There needs to be a change and stop living like this is 1999. Just let go of the 99 season already that was 10 years ago. The 99 season ship has sailed.

We need someone who is going to take us to the next level, which I mean WINNING playoff games and someday a super bowl.

Back when they were the Oilers, Bud changed HCs more than changing his drawers. He kept Fish this long because he knew he was an excellent HC and has given this organization a positive identity. Making a change just to change is risky. Just like players, HCs can have a bad year too. And maybe this team just isn't talented enough to get the wins. We are not getting Cowher; Dungy and Shanahan are possibilities but are they really great HCs or did they ride the coattails of HOF quarterbacks?

Fair Weather Fans. This statement is a ploy to shutdown any conversation that is untoward a team, coach or player. Some use it to define a fan that doesn't agree with them or one who is trying to point out facts that are unpleasant.

Losing is unpleasant. The facts are the facts. Coaches and Manangement hiding behind quotes that they have voiced over the past few years are more and more becoming known.

There IS trouble in the locker room. Does anyone doubt that. Those that speak out are immediately taken to task. The answer.....win some games! The "Fair Weather Fans"? They are nonexistant. It's only a 'true blue' fan that is trying to point out the obvious facts to those that don't want to hear anything negative.

Folks....the season is almost lost. I may not be around for a winning season at this rate, so I feel that I have a right to point out what others are 'dancing' around. We have a LOCKER ROOM and a COACH problem.

Bud needs to take action post haste.
