I get your point, I just don't agree with it. Yes, he is set up to fail, but that doesn't matter. The issue is what can VY do? CJ is still having a tremendous season on a crappy team lead by uninspired leaders, and an inept an arrogant coaching staff.

VY can't save the season, and like Kerry, he can't control poor play by the receivers and the rest of the team. But he can demonstrate the professionalism required to prepare for games, execution of the plays called, leadership on the field and in the locker room, and maturity to handle failure and success appropriately.

Do we want 1 game with him starting to measure that progress, or 10 games?

Regardless of how bad the situation is, the QBs job is to lead the team. VY has had mixed results in the past. For the sake of the franchise's future, we need to know if VY finally gets it. VY's learning curve is over, it is no longer about his "potential". Can he do his job, yes or no? That simple.

    Um...

So are you saying that unless the Titans are winning, VY shouldn't start? What's this with get the team on track BEFORE making a change?

    As for your comments...

1 - VY will have 2 weeks to prepare for his first start which is more reps, time and game planning he'll have the rest of the season. He has one of the best rushers in the league, a solid WR corp, an above avg grp of TE's though a currently shakey OL. With 2 weeks to gameplan and IF Dinger can gameplan to VY's strengths (again, the most time he'll have the whole season), they VY will be in his BEST position to have a positive first start. Perhaps most importantly, since the starting QB gets most of the reps, we need him to start playing as soon as possible to get as much practice reps and game time as possible. It is the best way to see if he is or is not our QB of the future.

2 - If the Offensive coaching staff isn't prepared to make the decisions to give VY the best chance to improve, it won't matter if it's the next game or any other game this year. They will or will not game plan to promote his strengths. Again, if they change now, they have 2 weeks to get a plan in place.

3 - I don't know what you mean about VY needs for there to be 'potential' for him to be his best. Does that mean a winning team? Winning record? Playoffs? FACT IS - we are where we are and he's been paid MILLIONS of dollars to play. If he can't get up for trying to play, play well, and prove that he belongs as a starter in this league, he'll be gone after this season and may never get another shot anywhere. As a qb, you need to have a passion for this game because you're gonna be a leader. If you don't have a desire to win...as in...let's say hypothetically against NE you ask out of the blow out, you don't belong on the field.

4 - He has ZERO trade value because of his upcoming escalating contract. NO ONE will trade for him because since quitting on his team, he has not had any opportunity to prove his worth. No one would take that game for millions of guaranteed money. If any has any interest in VY, it'd be after he's released. If he's not released, that means we think he's our future QB and we're not gonna trade him.

There are only 2 reasons for VY to not start our next game. First, Fisher thinks the season isn't over yet and that we can rattle off 10 straight to have a shot at the playoffs. Second, he wants to play KC because he thinks Collins gives us our best chance at wins and he thinks HE needs those wins to keep his job!

Changing to VY NOW is what is BEST for this franchise for many reasons. We will know by seasons end if we have our QB of the future or not, we will know whether our OC can utilize VY's strengths or not, and we'll further see what player and coaching changes need to be made.

If Fisher announces today that Vince is his guy for the rest of the season, $5 says VY is still on a plane somewhere today and not studying film at Baptist Sports Park until the team reports back on Friday.

I'm guessing "We are going to take this week to really evaluate starters at all positions and we'll address those concerns publicly next week."

There's no way in heck he starts Collins again after Bud saying he thought Vince would already be starting unless Jeff has just decided he is already done and going to go out his way.

Do you really think Vince can score 60 points? Or 30+ 3 other times this season? He's only done it once in his career, so why would Vince playing be making any difference this year?

Vince is like an abusive drug addicted spouse. His wife knows he's useless, has no love to offer any longer, yet she keeps daydreaming about the good ol' days in high school when he was Mr. Basketball and she was the cheerleading captain. Not everyone continues to evolve and be the best they can be, in life or as a pro athlete.

The question is can he make our Offensive drives longer first and then put up points. By making our drives longer then less points are scored against us and then he doesn't have to score 60 or 30.

Do I think he can produce? Dunno but it sure as heck has to be more exciting than what we've been watching the first six games which has basically been a quick slide into last year's Lions territory.

You mean like the first play he came in and threw a pick? Not a bad 4 second drive, I guess.

We DO NOT have a QB on this roster capable of taking ANY team to a Super Bowl. There's a reason that when the Bengals lose 1 player; their star QB, they can just win a few games. And, when he plays an entire season they can win the division.

There's a reason EVERY dynasty in history has had a franchise hall of fame quarterback. And, they all have the same thing in common; they are pocket passes, make good decisions, and are the undisputed leader of the team.

Minnesota, with Tarvaris could barely sneak into the playoffs with the BEST RB in the league, maybe the best run defense in the league...and now they have a pocket passing leader on their roster, and they're suddenly 6-0.

It's not rocket science, get a QB that fits the mold and the wins will follow
