    The Chris Johnson Rule

Through 9 weeks, the dynamic Titans RB has had 40 plays (Rushing and Receiving) for a gain of 10+ yards, which leads the NFL. More impressively, Johnson has broken off plays of 25+ yards an astounding 16 TIMES! Only Adrian Peterson (11) and Michael Turner (10) are even in double digits. To give this more perspective: the Top 9 RBs behind Johnson average out to 6 runs of 25+ yard each. Chris Johnson has been close to 3 times more explosive than the other top RBs. That's amazing.

So the Chris Johnson Rule is: A RB can overcome a lack of easy scoring chances by possessing a truly special ability to break off long runs.

I see a lot of people saying CJ doesnt have the power to pound it out in the redzone, why should he when he has the talent to break off the long run. If breaking off long runs is so easy then why dont Jones Drew and AP do it more instead of taking a beating to get in the endzone?

CJ has a gift no other RB has right now. I think he will pave the way for future RB's with Speed. I could see the next fast RB to enter the draft get taken in round 1 by some team wanting to be like the Titans.

    you mean like Reggie Bush???

this is stupid, Chris Johnson didn't invent speed, and the Titans sure as hell didn't invent drafting players on there draft board.

I agree with you Jess. After watching what we have in CJ, other teams will be hoping to find themselves one. This is a copycat league afterall. I will admit that I wasn't sold on this pick back in last April but have I sure changed my mind about him now. I remember thinking here we go again, Chris Henry 2.0. A small-school guy with great workout #s. Boy has he proved the doubters wrong.

Pro Bowl his rookie year, and he is well on pace for another visit to Hawaii. Maybe even 2,000 yards. The sky is the limit for this kid and the really scare thing in all this is that he's only in his 2nd year and is getting better and stronger each week.

We definitely hit a home run with this back.

I am sure teams would like to have someone like CJ. But I heard today on 104.5 that the top 4 rushing teams are having loosing seasons. The trend is to have an elite passer who can quickly pile up points.
To win by rushing, you must also have a great defense. If you get too far behind your RB can be a non factor.

Before anyone gripes, I appreciate CJ's skill and love to see him run. In fact he has spoiled me and a lot of Tn fans.

Just saying, when it comes to crunch time I hope Vince succeeds. I believe the defense, not just ours, can have off days. In fact we have had a few this season.

We need a guy who can take up the slack if needed ( along with receivers doing their job.) Vince has done great playing fisher ball. I think many games can be won this way.But there may be times when he has to sling it a bit more. We will have a better measure Monday night and also Colt week.
( Does anyone remember when we used to say Steeler week? )

Well, I guarantee he won't be playing in Hawaii this year... The pro bowl is in Miami :wink2:

VY does need to be more involved with the run game, that QB Option play last week where VY ran as far as he could then pitched it to CJ. They should use that way more. One defender trying to stop VY and CJ is a total mismatch and if they bring 2 defenders that means VY will have a TE or WR wide open somewhere down the field he could pass it to. Need to copy a few plays from the Miami Dolphins book. Without Ronnie Brown now, im interested in seeing how the use the Wildcat.

Maybe if he gets 2000 yards and buys the O-line cars, they will thank him by pitching in and giving him a trip to Hawaii. Or the coaching staff might send him there to thank him for saving their jobs :ha:.

Do you think CJ would be a good RB if he had average speed?

He has great vision and after a rocky start as a receiver last year he's now showing he has good hands. There's more to him than speed.

Chris Henry was fast but it didn't help him.Players like CJ don't come around very often.

    It's the vision .......

CJ sees the field like no one else does. He spent countless hours watching video with our RB's coach Junior Smith while he was at ECU. He is so quick once he sees an opening defenders don't have time to take good angles. CJ is already setting defenders up in the 2nd/3r levels of the defense even before he gets thru the LOS. You guys got a diamond in the ruff. The kid is tuff as nails.

He's just flat fun to watch. :woohoo:
