You just ruined your whole point when you mentioned the 9 playoffs. actually make it 10 counting this year which is really remarkable. Steve mcnair played in half that many and he had a fine career.

Totally brain stem would even bring peyton manning into a conversation about vince young.

Sawdust you are making comments based on recent history. The poster said that some people will "NEVER" like vince or give him any credit.

Are you serious that style would be the reason for that? Dude the guy has 10 SB wins for my favorite team but i don't like him because of his style. Please!

And except for bobby douglas who had his best season in 1972 all QBs who play like vince and run like him are black. Coincidence?

Then what is Tim Tebow???....cause he plays exactly like Vince's style....infact even more of a runner, just not as fast.

Seriously that post is making it about race when its not.

I also thought of race when I read the original post just because so many times in the past on this forum it has gotten thrown out as the reason why people don't like VY or don't think he'll be successful or whatnot. I forget who the poster was, but he loved throwing the race card anytime you criticized VY and it was always (in his mind) about race.

I think VY has done very good so far. But am I sold. No not really. 4 good games doesn't wipe out everything that has happened but he has learned and progressed and we'll see what happens. But just because people doesn't jump as far on the bandwagon as others doesn't mean that VY doesn't get credit/respect. But some people act like he is god and the sole reason we are winning and we'd be 9-1 right now if we had played VY from the beginning of the season. And there are haters from the other direction too....

If you want him to get respect, give it time and be patient. I've seen improvement but the people who start comparing him to being Payton Manning talent in his own way make me roll my eyes...

You are really stuck on this particularly issue although I can't figure out why. Why is it so important to you that the opening post be about race? Why does that matter? Do you really just want to rant against "racism" charges? Go ahead. No one is stopping you. Just stop posting the same thing every other post on this thread.

Who in the world would compare him to Manning??? Come on man, that is just nonsense....no one is that much of a Vince homer.

For one, its not even near the same systems where you can even begin to compare QB's, that is the easiest fact.

Does Vince go out there and play Defense too? NO, so obviously he is not winning games by himself....but is he costing the team the game? Not at all, not even close....ala Cutler against the Eagles and 49ers.

Im confused cause Im not even seeing in the original post any mention of Race.....is this all coming from the assumption that yes currently in this league Vince is only one of 3 starting "black" QB's?

McNabb, Freeman, and Vince, since Russell got benched.

Hey, I don't get it either. But it surely seems that there are some people out there who can't look past his style. They want nothing less than the prototypical pocket passer a la Manning and Brady. Me? All I care about are W's. I could care less if my QB throws for 100 yards or 400 yards as long as he helps us to a win.
Also as I said, his past problems are definitely a major factor in why some of the haters refuse to give him any credit. I don't really see how that can be denied. Vince's Jacksonville debacle left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths (including mine). Some are willing to start anew, some apparently aren't. If people want to hold that against him forever, whatever. The people who can forgive and forget are having a blast watching winning Titans football right now, while the people who can't are stuck complaining left and right because they don't like the QB. Fine by me. :)

Ehh... I still think making this a race issue is ridiculous but I'm obviously not going to convince you, which is fine. Do some people not like Vince simply because he's black? Probably. But I like to think they are few and far between. Do some people believe that all non-Vince fans are racists? Probably. But again I like to think they are few and far between. The vast majority of (rational) football fans could care less about race.

i dont see how some of you guys are saying he isn;t a better pocket passer...he has been dead-on on a majority of his deep balls and he looked poised and comfortable in the pocket. Like Vince says to his critics.."I love y'all too"

I can agree with that....in the pocket, he waited and waited for WR's to finish their routes and made the throws.

That deep ball to Washington was dead on, Manning and Brady style...the only person who had a play on that ball was Washington, who missed the catch. Cutler couldnt even make those throws on Sunday nite 3 times and he had guys even more wide open. I am sure Nate regrets not making that catch...its what we brought him on for.

I dont get it, sure some people want to over praise Vince, some want to under praise him....but the Titans have won 4 in a row....isnt that all that matters? The one arguement you can have is that this team might realistically run better with Vince.
