Eric Dickerson currently holds record for the most rushing yards in the season with 2,105 yards. He made this record his second year in the NFL. Ironically, this is Chris Johnson's second year, at which he has a legit chance at breaking
    Eric Dickerson's NFL record.

Currently, through week 13, Chris Johnson has 1,509 yards rushing.
There are 5 games remaining. Here is a list of the next 5 opponents and what they rank in rushing defense.

    vs. St.Louis Rams : 28th Rush Defense: Allows 146 yards a game.
vs. Miami Dolphins: 11th Rush Defense: Allows 107 yards a game.
vs. San Diego Chargers: 21st Rush Defense: Allows 121 yards a game.
at Seattle Seahawks: 17th Rush Defense: Allows 110 yards a game.

Right now he has to average 150 yards a game to break Eric Dickerson's record of 2,105 yards. Looking at the schedule ahead....it is very favorable for CJ. Now lets project some numbers. Lets say:

Against St. Louis: 180 yards rushing.
    Against Miami: 130 yards rushing.
    Against Chargers: 150 yards rushing.
Against Seattle:148 yards rushing ( I believe he will try his best this game, knowing he could break his record)

That would give him 2,117 yards, which would set a new record.
And I think those projections are generous, the St. Louis game, well, he has potential to break 200+ yards. I think if he breaks Eric Dickerson's record, the rest of his career will be tremendous. We have possibly one of the best running backs to ever step on the gridiron.

    Opinions?

2000 is still very attainable, but the record is out of reach. he needs a 200+ yard game somewhere.

The Rams are horrible against the run. He should be able to get 160+ easy.

I'm thinking after today's game, he's due for a 200 yard game next week.

Maybe if he starts sprinting once before waiting 10 seconds to find a hole. I got tired of hearing how "patient" he is today while he danced around for pretty much nothing. Wish we'd run him to the outside more and just let him beat people- and yes- it is that simple.

It just depends on if CJ bust for a few more of those 50-90 yard runs.

    Anything is possible with CJ.

He plays best at home....most of his long runs have come at LP Field. We have a 3 game home stretch coming up against some horrible run D's. I could see him going 160+ all 3 of those games if he finds some nice holes. I do no know how this team will come out after that loss though.....now that they know playoff hopes are pretty much gone.
