Nobody seems to be complaining that he's caught 6 TD passes. I'm not saying he never has drops, but everyone does.

    ONE TODAY!?!

He almost cost us the Cardinals with his critical drop.

But OMG 6 td passes he's amazing!

Let's face it, our WR core is still fairly pathetic. We have a bunch of WR#3s.

Britt is the only true bright spot. He's shown great potential for a rookie. I wanted to believe Nate could be a longterm starter for us when we signed him in the offseason, but I don't think that's possible anymore. A burner that can be a WR3 or WR4, sure, but a full time player, eh. But what's a burner worth when he is dropping the potential 80 yard tds?

I have a feeling if Collins was QB you wouldn't mind these statements about Nate's drop problems.

i think hawk will eventually emerge for us. he's a playmaker who just needs good coaching.

    *Sigh* Shut up Alex.

Washington has 6 drops on the year. How's that stack with the rest of the league?

    Wes Welker 5 drops
    Derrick Mason 5 drops
    Randy Moss 6 drops
    Andre Johnson 6 drops
    Antonio Gates 6 drops
    Santonio Holmes 7 drops
Dwayne Bowe 7 drops and he's missed several games
    Louis Murphy 9 drops
    Brent Celek 8 drops
    Donnie Avery 7 drops
    Calvin Johnson 7 drops
    Vernon Davis 6 drops
Michael Crabtree already has 5 drops
    Brandon Pettigrew 5 drops
    Tim Hightower 8 drops

There's not a single guy on that list you wouldn't want on this team, drops happen. Yea the one he had today was very big and very bad but it does happen, were not the only ones. My how greedy some of you people are, I guess we'd be happier with Justin McCareins who offered nothing but drops. Washington leads the team in receiving touchdowns but he screwed up on 1 play today so lets crucify him and run him out of town.

There is no way Washington has had only 6 drops.

I don't know how they decided these figures. Do they include bonehead whiffed on plays or are they all in hands and dropped?

The long ball thrown to him against the Cards was catchable but he didn't get it in his hands so I don't think it will be one of the drops according to stats.

He is a very inconsistent receiver and can't be relied upon. Britt has velcro hands and Hawkins has yet to drop a ball thrown to him that's been catchable.

Nates had some drops, but hes made some nice catches too, on a side note, its not fair to compare him to the top players drop numbers, because he doesnt come near the number of catches or balls thrown to, you need to work out a ratio balls. caught:balls dropped

I don't know what constitutes as a drop but the site I went to had them updated as of last week, I added Washington's drop today but the other players mentioned, those are their stats as of last week just and FYI.

Sorry but I don't get being so pissed at the leading TD receiver. In 2004 Bennett had 11 TD catches, Gage had 6 all of last year and Washington has 6 now, he's going to have more receiving TDs than anyone in one year since 04. But lets be angry at him. Why get on one of your more productive players? How about guys not contributing? Or how about a thread on Tony Brown giving the Colts a free 3 points?

All receivers have critical drops. ALL of them. If we somehow won this game, no one would even remember that drop. Marvin Harrison dropped quite a few first down catches against us and we won a game or 2 where they would have been key. Get over it- it happens.

Had Kenny Britt not redeemed himself would people be blaming him for a loss to the Cardinals after that fumble?

    Untrue.

We won the Arizona game I sure as hell didn't "forget" his critical butter-up on a perfect deep pass.

One of the reasons I was so nervous about yesterday's game............annnnnnd I was right.

Can we put all the blame on him? Of course not. But if you don't see his critical drops as a problem your fooling yourself. This team is ultra conservative unless cornered. (two TD attempts at 4th down yesterday when cornered)

Deep balls that are catchable MUST be caught.
