Let's just keep the faith and pray to the football gods that we make it in.

I too am excited about next year; however, I'm concerned with continually being a team of "next year"...We already have one of those in our division.

I was excited about this year, and here we are, having other teams decide our fate instead of us doing it. When Fisher said "You don't want to be the first team to play us", I thought it was going to be great. So I think I'll just let next year be and not get too giddy over anything said by Fisher.

Remember when Fisher also said "this is the best team we've ever had"?

Oh man. That guy. What a character... he should have gotten himself fired with that comment alone, since he started out 0-6 despite the talent.

    Incorrect:

Lets look at the rules ...

If we apply division tie breaker rules and somehow we tie with the Miami ... we win

If we stand at the top of the AFC South Wild Card tied with the rest of the teams.

We knock out Miami immediately because of our head to head. Then we have to drop to step 2. This is not a good position for us so that is why we need the scenarios I pointed out. It would put us in a head to head with Miami which we WIN. If Baltimore or Denver get in a tie with us we are toast. They have the conference record which we can not trump.

But if only one ties with us and the other is below us we take the final spot.

We aren't in the same division as Miami so the step 1 in case of a 3 team tie break doesn't apply.

Try any scenario where Titans, Ravens and Dolphins finish tied with the best wild card records at 9-7 and you willl see for yourself. (don't want to be harbinger of bad news just pointing out a loophole that jumps the Dolphins ahead of us)

Regardless Titans will make history and find another way in anyway!

If every home team wins the next two weeks and the Titans win out then we are in! That is simple when you want to know who to cheer for. Some games don't matter for us getting in or not but if you want an easy way to keep it straight for the ones that do this is for you.

Actually, if the Ravens beat Pitt and lose to Oak we are not hurt in the tie-breaker. They would win the 5th seed via common games...and then 6th seed would come down to us and the Fins which we would win.

In the case that the Ravens lose to Pitt and beat Oak then we are screwed if Miami is 9-7.

Good catch! So happy to be wrong on that one.

There is also a possibilty we could advance if we were tied with DEN, MIA at 9-7 but it would depend on strength of victory between MIA and DEN. Results from a ton of other games would factor so it would be impossible to tell until the season is done.

Hopefully it all starts with a win at Xmas!

It was pointed out to me in this thread: http://www.titanscentral.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=5826
that if Denver beats Philly and loses to KC then we are okay in a tie with Den and Miami, but if its the other way around we're not.
