That's what I thought when I first read the headline on the Tennessean. This could be a good move for us.

Cool, if we sign Babin I highly doubt that we're going to use our first on DE which is music to my ears.

Yeah, but most Eagles fans are idiots, so I wouldn't read much into what they say about their players. They hate McNabb when 3/4 of NFL teams would love to have him.

    Babin is just a guy.

The only reason he's even getting any attention is that there's no one else out there in FA.

We don't need DE as much as we need a big mofo alongside Brown in the middle.

Eh i think Jason Jones is our best guy on the d-line. He was just hurt last year. Since we run players in and out all game I think babin is a excellent fit and if he had a good preseason i could definitely see him starting if we dont go DE in the draft early.

I feel no reason at all to be excited about this guy. A 30 year old bust who has averaged 2.5 sacks a season.

We would be his 5th team which means that 4 other teams had him and let him go.

I know the 4 year $26M deal KVB got from Detroit was excessive for a player his age and recent productivity but at least the Lions are getting a 100% effort guy and a leader which is what they need. Babin is a guy nobody has wanted.

If that is the trade off KVB for Babin i would be really pissed.

If one POS excites you then maybe we could sign a few more. I understand you don't like the DEs available at the 16th pick and i have some doubts as well but signing this bum accomplishes nothing.

This will be a good sign, IF he was not playing hard last season just for a contract.

Living in the Philly area, and watching every Eagles game....I can say Babin certainly had a motor. When they were putting no blitz out, he was still finding ways to at least get in the QB's area.

Good replacement for KVB, if he comes at a cheap price...its just a short market this year, hard to find depth guys.

I'm sure he did play a little harder for a contract in fact his career was on the line after doing nothing for 2 seasons.

When Babin was at Houston they did everything possible to make him a successful player. They used him as a 4-3 end and a 3-4 OLB and my guess is that most of his 13 sacks in Houston came as a stand up OLB.
