The more I think about it, the more I like Thomas as the pick. He's got CB skills and if Witherspoon is signed, then CB is the only full time starter spot left. A DE will play in a rotation. Then draft a situational pass rusher to alternate with Hayes at LDE in the 3rd, someone like Worilds or Cunningham. Then play Ball/Ford at RDE.

i dunno... i feel like theres way better ways to spend a 16 than to draft a S and try converting him to CB. Thomas may turn out to be the best CB in the draft, but odds are the best CB in the draft will be a true CB (or eric berry :))

i think that haden is overhyped, would not want him, and all the other CBs are projected 20s at earliest.

if we go CB, i would prefer to trade our pick for a later first and a 2nd, and takes best DE/CB avaliable with the picks since there will be some quality talent there

I want a play maker, a game changer, a freaking guy who will not get beat every other play. Whether that's a corner, safety, linebacker or lineman I don't care. Our defense is a joke right now. This is the Titans we're talking about, whatever we expect, don't expect it.

Mays would be very cool, he could lineup at safety, then blitz. Drop back into LB, or jump on a WR. We'll just call him a "hybrid"?

thats what im talkin bout, just put him on the field somewhere and tell him to get the football.

not to mention, hope is about done with his contract, and griff has about 4 games to prove to me he isnt a bust. so if mays cant play CB, we'll need a safety soon anyway

I wish people would stop talking about Mays. Despite his great 40 time he is not even a good cover safety and there is no way in hell a 230 lb guy is ever playing CB.

Mays is like tank Williams who was just about as good and just about as fast and still fell to the 2nd rd.

Taylor Mays is like Aaron Rouse + Nic Harris + Sean Taylor.

All 3 are oversized safeties. Harris was converted to LB. Rouse and Taylor played safety. Mays could be a good safety, sure he doesn't have the BEST coverage skills. Mays is a safety/LB not a corner however.

Mays is a pure SS no doubt. One scouting report on him said he takes bad angles to the ball and has "zero ball skills".

Sounds about right, he goes for the big hit then ends up giving a deep pass. Sometimes he goes for the big hit and doesn't make a solid tackle. He has his flaws, but what propect doesn't?

[p.s.] I don't want Mays. I'd take Earl Thomas or Kyle Wilson over him. But the problem is Thomas and Wilson are projected late 1st. Which is why we should trade down! Chargers trade up for Spiller? Cards trade up for a QB?
