To resign bulluck and still draft a guy means that we will have guys making starting money on the bench and someone like Keglar or allred will have to be cut.

    Bulluck will not be back.

Mcgrath played MLB in college so he could back up there if tulloch goes down.

Let's be honest, Bulluck has what 2 years left? Why not sign him. I'm sure Thornton will get hurt again. Witherspoon can then start. Thornton I think is a FA next year anyways, so Witherspoon will start then? Or how about 3-4 (just kidding). It makes sense not to sign Bulluck, I just wish it wasn't true.

I would be shocked if Thorton is still here when the season starts. The Witherspoon signing in my opinion signals Thorton's demise. No way we will pay David $4 million this year especially with his shoulder concerns. Mcgrath, Witherspoon, and Tulloch are a solid linebacking crew. With the addition of a mid round draft pick and or another cheap free agent I think we can pretty much turn our attention elsewhere.

A lot of excitement here and for good reason, but the linebacker's aren't where we're losing games at. We still need to address the DB's. Harper's done I hope, but Chris Hope isn't far behind. We need some DB action before the draft. This Witherspoon signing makes me smile today tho.

With Witherspoon, I highly expect we either resign Bulluck and cut Thornton or Bulluck doesnt come back at all.

I really hope that its the first option....Titans D still needs that leadership and anger that Bulluck brings.

Look at the Eagles, and how lost at times that D was without Dawkins leadership in crucial moments. Even if Bulluck is a step behind, his heart and leadership overtakes that.

Get a deal struck with Bulluck and then draft Thomas to secure the Secondary....there are plenty DE's after that you can grab for more depth and growth.

Very true. I'm thinking Lito Sheppard, I've already heard some say that he sucks but I gotta disagree. Buchanon would be ok but I don't think he's been that good of a CB since his Oakland days. And giving up a 1st rounder to get a guy like Carlos Rogers or Tramon Williams is out of the question IMO.

I sure hope we do draft a guy like Earl Thomas in the 1st.

I don't think this means Bulluck is gone... with your 2 aging, starting OLBs injured at the end of the season it makes perfect sense to have another veteran in the lineup.

But Bulluck's salary plus his age and injury likely mean he's gone. And because of that we're looking at essentially replacing KB with Witherspoon. I don't see that making the team better at all, it just makes it less worse than it would have been without the signing. So it's good, but still a net loss if we can't keep Keith.

And ditto to addressing DB. It's the hole in the bucket right now. Fortunately we don't really need a shutdown corner, as nice as that would be. Just about any average FA would be an upgrade at this point.

What does this signing mean for the draft. If someone like McClain fell to 16 (as unlikely as it sounds) does that mean we pass him up now?
