Titans offensive Mike Heimerdinger called out Jared Cook this week, questioning the second-year tight end's consistency.

"He needs to become much more consistent week to week if he’s going to play for us," said Dinger, who is obviously trying to light a fire under the ultra-talented Cook. After a disappointing rookie season, due in part to a sprained ankle, Cook will have to work on blocking and defensive recognition to eat into Bo Scaife's playing time in 2010.

    No wonder we singed Bo

Dinger only likes old guys. No surprise here. How could you not LOVE to design an offense around so many weapons? Granted, they aren't proven but they have tons of potential. If speed kills this team is loaded.

This can only be a good thing for us though, we keep Scaife & if Cook isn't as good as MH is saying, then he might play harder and then we have two good TE's out there.

Scaife may not be the most elite TE out there, but he'd be an upgrade on a lot of teams for sure.

All he showed in preseason, camp, and when he actually touched the field was that he can be a monster...

yet of course he needs to work on his "blocking".

There's no hope for this team. Stuck in the 1980's.

He'll probably dominate all camp/preseason again only to never see the field once more.

Isn't not playing rookies so they can become consistent an aspect of Fisherball? How can a player can become consistent just playing in practice games? You have to be tested on the battle field, as it were.

    Dinger is wrong.

Dinger should call him out because the Titans do need him to step up and be a monster next season. Set the bar high. Every single skill player on this offense (perhaps other than CJ) should feel that he needs to step up and become an elite offensive threat because the team needs him to do that.

    This is basic motivational stuff.

Particularly since we'll need to score 40+ points to win games.
