What do you guys think about drafting Jacoby Ford in the 3rd? He's projected anywhere from the late 2nd - mid 4th. Here's some info on Ford:

    INFO:
    5'9'' 186 lbs
    22 Years Old
    40 Time: 4.22
    Bench: 15 Reps
    Vert Jump: 33 1/2''
    20 Yrd Dash: 2.44
    10 Yrd Dash: 1.46

    Senior Year Stats:
    Receiving: 56 catches - 779 yards - 13.9 avg - 6 TDs
    Rushing: 18 rushes - 122 yards - 6.8 avg - 2 TDs
    PUNT Return: 18 returns - 143 yards - 1 TD
    KICK Return: 9 returns - 174 yards - 0 TD
Jacoby Ford is also a track star. NCAA 60m (09) and 100m champion (07-09 qualifier).

If the Titans got this guy in the 3rd round, they could still do CB/DE in the 1st then DE/CB with the other 3rd. Jacoby is a speed machine. He could really help the Titans with returning, and also be the #4 WR, and possibly take some carries. Ford reminds me alot of Steve Smith. I would LOVE Ford in the 3rd round. Make him our PR/KR. Give him the ball a few times on offense and let him make plays.

RANDOM FACT: We'd have a Jacob and Jacoby Ford!

According to Clemson, that's what he ran.

He actually ran a 4.28 in the combine.

Why is he projected so late if he's so fast? What are his weaknesses?

Still sounds like a good idea if he's there in the 3rd!

    -He's short.
    -Average Strength.
    -Mild concussion in 09.
    -Average Hands.
-Route Running isn't very good, good deep runner. Short route's aren't the best. Has the quickness to make them great.
    -Bad Blocker.
    -Only 27 career starts.

Compares to: Ted Ginn/Steve Smith (Panthers)

He'd be a project player. Something like a shorter, less polished version of Heyward-Bey. If he's there in the 4th-5th when we pick he might be worth a look. Any earlier and it's not a good decision.

Eddie Royal and Desean Jackson come to mind. He was more productive at Clemson than Jared cook was at South Carolina.

Certainly a threat to go the distance on any given play. We know our guys love that speed. I would love for us to get him.

Without any doubt worth a 4th rd pick.

Sounds like he'd do well in a Warrick Dunn type role instead of WR.

You guys are talking about 4-5th round, that's crazy. He'll be lucky to be available at #16 in the 3rd. He'd be a great pick-up at 16 in the 3rd. He's a playmaker. He could be an amazing returner. A good 4th string WR, causing another deep threat the d has to worry about. And could even do RB a few plays. WR screens would be great with him in Britt <-good blocker/speed.

Yes - he is a "project" player. Look at Jared Cook, he's the same way and we traded a 2nd for him. CJ could help him with his speed and cuts, how to make defenders miss.

I think Ford would be a blessing in the 3rd round.
