having a good or great season next year and he's still here

...honestly the team would probably have to fall to like the first pick for him to be fired

since the league's pretty much heading for a lockout next year, it's not going to really matter much

    Fire Alan Lowry
    Re-sign Keith Bulluck
Draft a DE who can start right away
    Play talent over experience
Tell Scaife to suck it up and be a blocker, play Cook
Play Britt over Washington on all Snaps
Give Cecil 3 games to show he's got game or hand the job to McGinnis
Stop running the best RB in football between the tackles 60% of his plays
Tell Heimerdung to be unpredictable with the playbook

Show players that you value them by tell Hindfelch to get their post tender deals done.

Stop bitching about who's not in voluntary workouts after you've let all the leadership in your locker room leave the team.

I don't think he's under nearly as much pressure as the original post presumes. I think he sees increased pressure if we have a losing record, but I don't think he's gone unless we fall apart again on the same level as last year.

Donnie Nickey will save Jeff Fishers Job this season. Donnie Nickey is everything that is good about this franchise. After 7 years of hard work, you can still be one of the premier safetys (on special teams) in this league.

I'm pretty sure Jeff Fisher is under contract through the 2011 season earning nearly $6M a season to suck. In 2006 after starting 0-5 to finish 8-8 he received an extension. So after starting 0-6 and finishing 8-8 in 2009 I'm afraid he's a Titan til he retires. If he makes the playoffs in 2010 I think we are stuck with him for a looong long time unfortunately.

Jeff Fisher in 2007 - "I was hired a long time ago to bring Mr. Adams a championship trophy, and I work toward that every day." Haha yea okay. Prove it!

I imagine a scenario where Fish stays on until Bud is no longer with us - then Fish will move on of his own choosing. And if his replacement doesn't do better than 10 wins in his first season half the self-anointed NFL experts here will be calling for his head and second-guessing every move the team makes..

They will let go of Cecil first. However, I see Fisher leaving us before we fire him. If he had a hunch that he was going to be fired, he would resign and land with another team. His ego would not let him stick around to be fired.

Fisher is under contract thru 2011. I have no idea whether Bud would actually fire him if he fails to make the playoffs. But he needs to. Six years without winning a playoff game is long enough.

Considering Fisher has survived this long despite his indisputable mediocrity, I think the question should be "what has to happen for him to NOT have a job with Tennessee in 2011?"

The only answer I can come up with is 0-16. And honestly, I'm not even sure if that would do it. I fear we are stuck with him until he keels over and dies. :hmm:

Cruds, I've noticed a lot of negative posts from you lately regarding fan opinion.

Starting to sound an awful lot like Gunny always supporting the Titans status quo.

Are we all supposed to just rah rah cheer every move the Titans make or don't make with no opinion of our own?

I will say there's some overboard negativity going on regarding Fisher. He's alright, he certainly tries. But he hasn't proven to be an elite NFL coach. How many seasons does he get with the Titans to prove it? I know I was no longer a Fisher fan before I began posting here. Time to get it done or make way for new blood.
