He hasn't played a snap yet. He can still catch the same bug as Titans FA-WRs get.

Why the hell do these AFC teams keep feeding good players to the Jets? You would think they would be smart enough to trade these players outside the AFC, or to at least a non contending team.

And for whoever said Mark Sanchez isn't that good, apparently doesn't watch football to know that even as a rookie he had his bumps and bruises, but kid has tons of upside and will be a special QB in the NFL.

    Remember Peyton Manning's rookie season?

4-game suspension for Holmes. He's the next Ricky Williams and the Steelers know it.

I would take a risk on a good receiver like Holmes for a 5th round pick, regardless of his 4 game suspension. Even if he gets in trouble again, what did the Jets lose, a 5th round pick??? A 5ht round pick is not going to make any team cry a river.

    That's rubbish.

And Ricky Williams did JUST FINE in 2009.

    1. The Steelers really like Wallace and think he is capable of stepping into that #2 role and could end up being even better than Holmes.

    2. Holmes is in his final year of his contract and is facing a suspension. The Steelers know they won't re-sign him so they unload him.

    3. Apparently other teams were not busting down the door to get Holmes which is why they only got a 5th. A good trade for both teams. The Steelers get some value for a troubled player they know won't be on the team next year anyway and the Jets at minimum get a quality WR for one year.

Not necessarily. The Jets moved up to get Sanchez. That may have been their guy from day-1 before the combine and everything else. I did think Bradford was the best QB since last year tho, he'd be in Detroit where no one wanted to go. He stayed in school to get hurt, and now maybe become a Ram. Did he really make a good choice? IDK maybe.

If Bradford came out last year, I don't think Stafford would be a Jet. Maybe a Jaguar, and that wouldn't be of any help to us.

Big Ben is too vital to their success to dump, Holmes not the same story. The next fool in Pittsburgh to make a mistake is getting traded or released. Only the starting QB is allowed to get in legal trouble.

All it takes now for Holmes to be suspended for a year is one little infraction and Goodell well bring the hammer down. I like the trade by the Steelers. They get rid of a troubled guy who probably would have just left at the end of the season or would have been suspended again.
